    Cruising RPM's?

Absolutely! You will find more issues from lack of use and boats that idle for long periods of time. Motors that didn't do proper break in and now "make oil". I will say I was a bit nervous on my first oil change on the new motor. lol

    Cruising RPM's?

I try to keep it just under 10gph on the way out which is around 28-30mph and just below 4k RPMs. On the way back in from fishing I usually run it harder and will hit WOT in the river for short duration. I run my small boat the same way.

232 TANK REPLACEMENT: deck flange trimming & cross bracing

Those foamed in tanks would have done so much better with some glass around the perimeter and a drain on top draining to the bilge. My son and I just did this to our mako.

    Battery 1, 2 or Both?

The Opti requires over a 1000MCA and most marine batteries can't accommodate. If I remember correctly the coils run basically run off the battery. I chased a bad coil for weeks!

    Dash cleaning

Those switch covers pop off if you need to get in there. They have a tool if you are worried.

    1999 Bimini 306 - replacing fuel tanks.

You really don't want to use rubber on the bottom of the tank. Most manufacturers moved away from that practice. Rubber is a conductor as it usually contains carbon. The tank manufacturer in my area lays RTV and let's it dry. Then covers it in 5200/4200 and adds the tank. I'm actually doing a...

    Ordered my dream trailer

Why Owens? On a trip todl the keys and you have a sticky caliper and have a new one ready for you upon arrival. It's local for me, but their customer service kills it. Easiest trailer to power load.

Coast Guard: Vessel Kill Switches Required By Law Starting Next Month

Correct. I wasn't talking about our marine campers, but would like to see what the definition of a cabin is for the requirement.

Pasco Battery Not Selling Deka Marine Battery.

I have the Sam's Duracell batteries in mine, but recently had to get a battery for my son's little Ranger truck. I picked up a Interstate battery with a non-prorated 3 year replacement warranty. The price was cheaper than other shops as well. I need to look at their marine batteries next time...

NE Canyon run w/ gas bladder planning

The blue drums are usually illegal and the bladder is legal. Commercial guys will use drums for diesel but they can try to fine you if you get a real red ass.

Are stainless steel brakes worth the extra $?

Take a look at Deemaxx. It's the same as Kodiac but I believe the warranty is better.

Are stainless steel brakes worth the extra $?

If it's a saltwater rig it's the only way to go. You can get by with the coated discs/pads. With proper maintenance you should get 5+ years out of the rotors.

    Single engine on larger boat?

The issue is with the large high dollar center console market that exploded. As they stack those motors they need the appropriate clearance between the motors. This is a game changer in the custom and semi custom boat market. With that weight it makes the Cox Diesel outboards not so crazy. Lol

    Single engine on larger boat?

My brother worked for Intrepid and they used a lot of 7 Marine motors. This Merc has a little less HP but will fill that void in the market now that 7 Marine is gone.

    Cut, buff, wax.

I would start at 800 and work your way up. If you haven't done anything like this in the past take a look at some of the Shurhold videos. They have a pretty basic explanation and their buff magic is a pretty good product but a little pricey. You can use a DA like they used in the videos on the...
