How to use Raw water wash down

It's really one of those items that requires a bunch of lube. Make sure you lube it up good once you get the new one. I believe the entire mechanism is plastic, but you don't have the corrosion issue. :) Just hopefully, it doesn't snap off while the live well is on and it fills your bilge up...

How to use Raw water wash down

If the live well works don't worry about that long handle as you are getting flow. The valve is under your rod holders. When that 3-way valve falls apart you can get a replacement from a supplier like Defender. You can't have the livewell and wash down on at the same time. This design is...

    cost of trailer

I paid around $5k for my Owens. A custom trailer really makes a difference when you load the boat at the end of the day. It's a family run business and there is a reason they have such a good name. It's a local company for me but I would be one of those northerners driving to St. Pete for their...

    Wire

If any of you are doing Grady wiring projects I just received an email that GenuineDealz has 10% off ( code SPRING SALE). They are already very reasonable and their wire is made in the US. I usually buy in bulk so I'm not running out to Westies.

    hard top paint

Is it textured? If not, wet sand and buff it.

Replace the rear bilge pump wood

If it was properly prepared then you can use epoxy and it will stick just fine. If you use that cellular PVC board from the home store make sure you scuff it up really good before adding the glass. I would use a biax and several good layers to give something for your screws to grab. It's not...

Replace the rear bilge pump wood

I would use a oscillating multitool and remove the pad. Sand/grind the area for the new pad. You can use layers of glass in a mold or any composite material that will accept the laminating material. I usually make a mold for pads and lay down layers as I usually have some left over material...

    Kill Switch

I've been hit by 2 uninsured motorists in my time on the road. I drive and boat more than the avg person. On the water I can avoid people....not so much on the road. I have a c-clip on my Grady kill switch and didn't even install it on my Mako. I'll take the like fine and mark it as a cost of...

    Kill Switch

The problem needs to be addressed by boat/engine companies. A lanyard just isn't practical or safe. I don't have a problem with a fob or wearable. I'll save some fuel when the Zuke was left on idling while I'm setting up to fish. Lol Just another law that people will complain about and won't...

    Kill Switch

I'm sure a lot of the folks here tread water on THT, but some may not. A little info that was snuck into one of the Covid bills. It's a total waste of time and not enforceable on boat, but everyone should know about it. SEC. 8316. ENGINE CUT-OFF SWITCHES; USE REQUIREMENT. (a) In...

    1986 overnighter dash wiring

We had to run feeds for deck lights mainly. I would assume the salt air/heat of the old halogen lights created a poor environment. Usually 6"-8" from the fixture would be discolored. Tinned wire slows the oxidation of the copper. Yep, aluminum wire was to save money for sure. Many coastal...

    1986 overnighter dash wiring

I'll disagree back a tad :) I agree that there are some inferior products out there that check boxes that they have X,Y,Z, but it's just eye wash. A lot of what is found on eBay seems to fall into this category. Quality tinned wire is absolutely better than non tinned. I had to run several...

    Adventure hatch problem

Add some stiffeners to the underside. I always felt a little more support was a good idea as it tends to take a lot of weight as people load onto the vessel. Looks like that is just solid glass.

    1986 overnighter dash wiring

Get on genuinedealz and start adding to the cart. These boats are wired like trash from Grady and you wouldn't want one of their looms. The lack of heat shrink connectors, wire isn't tinned and how they ran spade connectors from the bilge to the panel is low rent. The primary ground on my boat...

    Vhf speaker install

A lot of my spots that are 30-50 miles out are due West. I use it all the time to get me to the coast on the way back. I keep my Garmins bottom machine on full screen to spot new bottom. Most of the tracks will very similar but always find something new.

Fusion Radio install on a 330

I have a Fusion black box model connected to a JBL Marine amp out to some JL audio speakers. Also use the phone app and have 2 Bluetooth fusion remotes. I have one I connect when I’m out of the boat and in the water. Worked really nice on the sandbar.

    Question for Detailers

A variable speed drill is used on an inside radius and tight spots by many detailers. The correct speed/pad is needed with ALL detailing tools.

    Question for Detailers

You can use a cordless drill with various pads for tight areas. If you are polishing/compounding you will need some finesse. Careful using any rotatory tool around those tight edges/corners as you can burn through quickly.

    Painting the deck ?

You could always use Kiwigrip. One of my boats has been a featured boat for their product for about 10 years. Very easy product to apply. Has pros and cons like everything. The deck was actually rolled by my son. I believe he was around 6-7 years old at the time.
