    Crappy situation - update!

Yeah. Sorry. I used the wrong terminology in my update. I can now suck the tank out from the deck. Owning a used Grady with a functional Groco macerator is like owning an 80's car with a functional parking brake. It just doesn't happen! As much as I'd love to have that working, it's on the...

    Crappy situation - update!

Hookup, I'm not exactly sure what you are implying. The issue was I could not get anything out of the holding tank. We sucked this up from the tank to the gas dock pump-out nozzle. It was stuck in the nozzle. We removed it and suddenly we were able to suck the tank clean.

    Crappy situation - update!

Uh, it would have to go through the electric macerator in the head. No way that made it through!

    Crappy situation - update!

Found my problem! WTF is this?!? This was blocking the pump out line! Looks like a capacitor. Could it be from the Groco macerator?

Northern Ohio does anyone know where I can buy a top like this used? I picked up a 1984 257 pro that I need one for.

I don't think they were as universal as you might think. Also, when the boat is rotted, so is the hardtop. I've followed this site for a long time. Tops do pop up now and then, but it is not common. I can't say I've ever seen one for your specific boat, but keep trying. You only need one!

    Yamaha F250 vs. Honda BF250?

If you already have Yamaha rigging and prices are similar, F250 all day long. And that's coming from a guy that doesn't care for Yamahas. F250: - more displacement - much lighter - the 4.2 is one of the most bulletproof outboards in the business If the difference in Yamaha to Honda is more than...

You can get them new, but it will cost more than the boat. If I were you, I'd look at a semi custom option like https://www.atlantictowers.com/products_wa_tee_f.php

Had a day no boat owner wants, boat sank. Now what. Also Transom and floor work questions.

Sorry for your loss. Unless you have some reliable, cheap power available to mount, and/or your budget for a replacement is unable to pick up something newer, I would 100% let it go. You will be throwing $ at a project that will need more and more $ and time, but won't appreciate in value...

2002 Voyager with twin Yamaha 115hp / seems heavy in the stern

I owned that hull for 10 years. Even with a single ox66 water would come up on the cowl. I think it was just a characteristic of the short running surface. The boat had a tendency to run bow high unless the engines were trimmed down. I also added at least 100 lbs of ballast to the bow. I had...

Repower Or Move On 306 GW

250's and 300's are the most commonly sold engines over there. Considering the midrange power of ox66's, I wouldn't pass up a set of 300's. Some claim it can cause insurance issues to go over the rated HP, others don't. IMO an extra 100hp on a hull that big is no big deal.

Repower Or Move On 306 GW

What is the hull rated for? Over on THT there are a lot of 800-1200 hour 250 and 300 4 strokes that come up for sale. An insanely clean set of 250's just sold for under $20k.

Fishable, Trailer-able Family Friendly Grady options

Trailerable + under 13' + family of 5 overnight + not be cramped = ain't gonna happen. Subtract cramped and you might be able to get there for a couple years or after you make cannabis part of your boating routine.

Refrigerator - AC Only or AC & Battery

I could probably do my homework to answer this myself, but I'm sure someone else here already knows the answers. - Will the engine's charging system (f150) put out more power than the draw of the fridge so while underway the charging system can maintain and replenish what the fridge used? - If I...

Possibly the dumbest question ever asked on GG?

Seems safe to assume these engines would be marketed as 2005 then. The boat is a 2005. The engines likely didn't go into service till 2005. I just want to avoid a WTF issue if a buyer sees the manufacturing date of 10/04. Thanks all.

Possibly the dumbest question ever asked on GG?

Every man has to make his mark. Here I go: If my f150's are manufactured in 10/04, does that make them 04 or 05 models? I ask for a couple reasons. When I look up parts, the models only show up on parts diagrams as 05. It's possibly other sites might show data for 04, but I haven't seen it...

2013 Marlin / any outboard owners

Did the hose get pinched from tilting the engines out of the water? I ask because GW makes no mention of what orientation to have engines when tilting out of the water. On a single it isn't an issue, but on the 270 there is only one way to position twins to avoid damaging the steering lines and...

2 Rescued from the water in Boston Harbor - GW sinks

Good point Glacier. I wonder if it was heavily loaded. Halfhitch, yes THT knows this was caused by inferior construction. A Freeman would have consumed the rocks and ejected sand. :D
