    Circuit Breaker Replacements?

Be careful, everyone, with the post by Oliver. It appears to be a bot (non-human) response. Other posts by this bot are similar, often with an embedded link. And there's always something "off" with the posts. I've been seeing the same thing quite a bit on another forum. Skynet is coming :)

    Removing cupholder

If you get your hand on it from underneath well enough, try twisting (if you didn't already). When you tried the fishing line... were you able to fully get it underneath the rim? Hmmmm.... maybe they used 3M5200.... you know, 'cause apparently that stuff is good to use anywhere.... ;)

    Removing cupholder

Assuming you've cut through as much of the silicone/double sided tape/whatever as possible... Wedge your hand inside it and rock it back and forth while also wedging upwards. or Use some plastic prybars (dash trim removal tools).

WIRE ROUTING FOR PULPIT MOUNTED SPOT LIGHT 330 EXPRESS

They'll just think you're chasing some big fish... and then you can tell them you had it... and how big it was... and then it got away :)

WIRE ROUTING FOR PULPIT MOUNTED SPOT LIGHT 330 EXPRESS

I'd be very hesitant to put it in that spot. I think you're going to get a lot of glare. But, it's easy enough to try it out by just setting it there (tape it down) and temporarily power it up with a jump pack. It may also cast some weird shadows to port. BUT...it will work just fine if you...

Good find! Definitely make some extra storage!

    Updating 1988 242G

Ah, got it. One tank would be standard. Do you have any fresh water faucets on the boat (or sings of where it would have been)? It doesn't matter if they work right now - but if you DON'T have any fresh water faucets then that glassed over fill wouldn't be for a fresh water tank. Does the...

    Fuel Cap 82 Offshore

Now, I haven't had the luxury of having to look for a replacement fuel cap yet :) But it "appears" to be the same, or awful darn close, to readily available caps like this one ("internal", so to say, caps). I CAN tell you that it was easy to find a replacement o-ring for the cap - which leads...

    Updating 1988 242G

After almost 4 decades it's a moot point, now. Things could have been changed many times. If you're curious if you have a second tank or a fresh water tank - you'll need to pull hatches to check. EDIT: Was there something more to this? Or an underlying reason you wanted to know?

    Fuel Cap 82 Offshore

The things on the boat ARE standard... but from 40 years ago. Things change. I've never done 3D printing - can't help with that question. BUT... you have Marinium fixtures (cleats, fuel fill) - which are actually FANTASTIC stuff. The problem is that it got expensive to produce. Somewhere...

    Pink on hull?

On the HULL? That's one I personally haven't seen before. On the vinyl, yes, but it seems to reason that the causes would be different. On the plus side, it's likely much easier to get rid of whatever that is on the hull. Try spraying it down (mist it, out of the sun) with a mixture of...

    Repower Recomendations for 1999 Tournament 225 replacement for E-tec 225hp 2008

I wouldn't worry too much about the weight as far as "an issue" goes - just follow the plate on your boat about max HP. However, if you're worried about weight from the standpoint of your scuppers, then sure. Although you can help offset that by moving some items forward - or even using dead...

    Flush Mount Horn Replacement

It doesn't really matter, in the end. As long as it's the same size you're good. There's a number of manufacturer's that make one this size. And... they will all fail in a relatively short amount of time :)

Shore power on a 268 Islander

There's some kind of "rule" about the breaker being within "X" distance from the power source (in this case the power inlet on the boat). It seems like where your breaker is located is probably within that distance. Sounds like you're good! It's "nice" when it's right there at the power...

Shore power on a 268 Islander

Hookup, are you sure you don't have a main breaker by the power inlet plug? It's often under a covered lid/box and sometimes is tucked up a little higher than the power inlet. That would be strange if you don't. This can be a dangerous situation - there is nothing protecting the wiring from...

    Flush Mount Horn Replacement

Usually, yes. May not be much as there could be a cable clamp/zip tie of the wiring and it depends on who installed it - but probably enough.

    Covers without factory snaps

You can use either a hole punch, first - or just use the snap. The snap "shaft?" (or whatever it's called) is sharp enough that it works as a hole punch. It cuts through cleanly. The snap will even go through both the Sunbrella and any black, nylon strap being used as reinforcement under the...

Battery issues on my 2021 F285 - dealer replace or West Marine DIY?

Sick, Chris and Skunk all mentioned excellent info, so no need to repeat any of that. But definitely don't just go out and buy new batteries "blind". While that's good for the economy, you haven't done any testing to find the root of the problem. At this point, you don't even know if your...

Shore power on a 268 Islander

The battery switch is the DC side. It's not very clear from what you wrote, but can we assume you're talking only about the AC side and that you currently DO NOT have power at the panel? There are a couple breakers... at the dockside power, then usually a main breaker by where you plug in at...

    Covers without factory snaps

It can't hurt to use the soldering iron, but honestly, it's a step that isn't needed. Manufacturer's don't do it and I've never done it, nor any of the other guys at the shop. The press-n-snap toll will punch the snap through without having to make a hole, first - and the material will not...
