Sounds like You are having a fuel restriction in the vst high pressure pump filter. If you put a pressure gage on the Schroeder valve on the vst while the problem is happening, it will tell you what is going on.

You don’t have an alternator. You have a rectifier. Totally different. Without a battery, it will overheat and burn up the diodes. Mercury Optimax and Verado have alternators.

IMHO ring free is overrated and overpriced. It is still a great product and works well. Sea foam works wonderfully for four stroke motors. Not a big fan for 2 strokes. I just don’t trust any additives to not break down the lubricating properties of the 2 stroke oil.
