    My first fiberglass recore

Best way to beat the itch is to start with hot and cold shower. Start with cold water. Wash lightly with wash cloth and soap. Rinse. Then switch to as hot as you can stand. Repeat washing n rinsing. Go back n forth doing this with hot n cold. Opens n closes pores n works out the fiberglass from...

    Fuel Primer pumps

The bulbs will always work. May see if the antisiphon valve is restricting the flow or the arrow on the bulb was not mounted pointing up. I use all oem Yamaha, oem Mercury, or Sierra primer balls. Theother aftermarket ones have problems.

Proper octane for Yamaha 225 hp

Non ethanol gas is the best. Most stations in fla carry rec 90. (90 octane with no ethanol) Some stations have 87 and 89 non ethanol gas also.

    A question about trailers

I have bunk slides on all my 5 of my trailers. They are awesome. Just don’t unhook your bow eye until the transom is in the water. Boat might fall off and crack your lower unit like a coconut. Lol. I have had a few customers do that.

    A question about trailers

I would put a heavy duty ratchet strap From the nearest crossbeam to the bow eye and back to the nearest crossbeam To keep it from going forward. Then get it to the launch. Too much can happen monkeying around trying to lift and slide the boat on the trailer. Just strap it good with a few...

Which way does the stuid fuel filter go?

I see the Sierra filters do that all the time here in fla. Your best chance of keeping the rust under control is to use a real racor filter. The racor has better epoxy on the outside, better filter paper On the inside that won’t break down into dust, and a better drain that won’t leak as long as...

Lots of water in bilge area, wrong drain plug?

I replaced all my thru hull fittings that are close to the waterline with stainless ones. Can’t afford to have one crack on me in rough seas 50 miles off shore.

Easy way to start 2 stroke is to prime first. Open throttle 10%. Either lift the choke lever up(located under key switch) and crank motor holding the lever up. Or push the key in to activate the choke. Hold key in and crank motor If you think it is flooded crank motor no choke with throttle...

Which way does the stuid fuel filter go?

Not sure if it is available in your area, but oil eater degreaser works the best out of all the ones on the market. It will also clean the deck amazingly. Fingerprints wipe right off the fiberglass. I use a 50/50 water mix I get mine at a local tractor supply store...

Which way does the stuid fuel filter go?

If the gas is about a year old (non ethanol gas) add some sea foam and k100 to it along with some fresh non ethanol gas. If it has ethanol in it, and it is 3 to 6 months old, pump it and Use it in a lawn mower or something that is not too expensive to replace. If older than 6 months, dispose of it.

Which way does the stuid fuel filter go?

I wouldn’t power wash the inside. You can lightly wash the pan with degreaser and a bottle brush. Let it run out. Sometimes I use a blow gun to clean the drains while washing the pan. The drains are in the rear of the pan. Looks like rubber holes the size of a dime. Once it is blown dry, You...
