    Prop Selecting Help

Sorry but that's funny coming from someone who just bought 2008 ETECs... I would start with something like a 15 x17.

What color bottom paint would you recommend

I think Pettit offers a very dark blue that should look good. Either that or straight black. Just remember to protect the paint when you apply your wax. IMHO wax "over spray" makes a nice bottom job look like sh*t....

    Interesting trade

Sure you can. I just did it with a pair of 200 Yamahas. :D

    VST

My understanding is that it isn't something that's easy to find. Do a search on THT. Lots of info about it there lately.

Best for overnight fishing trips? Need room to sleep...

You need a Sailfish at minimum. Even then you'll only be able to put one person in the v-berth and one in the aft-berth. I'm 6' and I actually fit better in the aft-berth than I do in the v.

I put a small piece of wood against mine and hit the wood with a regular hammer. They popped right off...

Removing lower unit on 95 200 hp. Yamy ?

Look for a small diameter tube sticking out of the top of the lower unit. If you have it, you have to snip off one the zip ties and disconnect it. It's for the speedo pickup. At least that how's my '00 200s are...

    Fighting chair in a 232.

This is the chair I have... http://www.tracy-intl.com/pro-fisherman.html But as Capt. Bill mentioned, it mounts to an AL plate that is through bolted to the deck rather than just sitting on the deck as pictured. It's a nice chair but I found it got in the way when not fishing. So, I...

    1988 Grady-White Repower question

First, you have to determine how much you want to spend. Keep in mind that changing manufacturers could (depending on what year/model motors you get) also mean having to swap out all the controls, gauges, wiring harnesses, etc. Once you have established your budget, you know what you can and...

1989 Gulfstream bracket and shaft length questions

Anyone know if anything special (outside of drilling new mounting holes) would need to install a single engine on the twin engine bracket of a 1989 Gulfstream? 30" shaft would be required I assume... Thanks.

    Weight of Fisherman 204

If your case I would probably go ahead and convert that trailer to bunks. Most bunk trailer manufacturers set their trailers up so the bunks extend well past the end of the frame to support the aft portion of the hull. You could easily do the same and then move the axle back to get the proper...

Krylon makes a paint suitable for use on plastics. You might try that. I think it's called "Fusion".

motor bracket leak - what's the best fix?

Re: Bracket Removal That's one of the differences between the Springfield and Gil (the one you have) brackets. Not sure of the size of the nuts, but it probably has 6 as my twin engine Gil has 10. I can get the size this weekend for you...

motor bracket leak - what's the best fix?

Personally, I wouldn't leave my motor hanging from a tree. There's too much that could happen that could result in it falling. If nothing else, at least lay it down on a pallet.

1985 Grady White Trophy 257 Fuel Tanks

I wouldn't recommending piecing together a new fuel system using multiple 50 gallon tanks. You'll spend more time and money re-engineering the mounting and plumbing for those tanks than it's worth. If the current tanks (there's two, a 150 and a 73) need replacing, but you don't need the full...

    Setting toe-in?

I found numerous online references to GW recommending to set the engines parallel. So that's what I did as an initial starting point. I plan to tweak things once she's in the water, but I WILL NOT be disconnecting one engine while on plane. That just sounds like a very bad idea...
