    330 Express Windlass Breaker Question

A photo of the switch area would help. On my 2003 33 the Main breaker is in the stern box and my Windlass breaker is in the helm area under the steering wheel (Bussman 50 amp lever types with red trip button). I also have 3 low voltage push button (red) breakers for bilge float switches and...

    Mystery Items on my 282

i have a 2003 330 Express. Factory used the Pro-Blaster 2088's for both washdown and fresh water, adding an accumulator tank to the freshwater system. You can find the manufacture date at the bottom right of the pump (can't quite make yours out). I just changed my 2003 pumps out yesterday...

    MFD's

I had room for two displays - a 12 and a 9. When running to offshore destination, the 12 is split with chart/navigation and the 9 is dedicated to radar. When at fishing destinations, 9 is switched over to fish finder. Of course, other functions, engine management, tides, waypoints, etc...

    Yamaha F250 vs. Honda BF250?

This statement will probably cause an uproar, but here it goes anyway. If you're keeping the boat for the long haul, ask the independent outboard technicians what brand they would recommend. I did...... and they all said Yamaha. Having said that, there are still Yamaha years and...

    Aluminum plate corroding? Need help!

Here's what my dealer installed to replace the aluminum cap. I very much agree with above post by trapper - check underneath for any issues and thoroughly seal the new cap at install.

    Aluminum plate corroding? Need help!

Definitely should be replaced - I believe the replacement cap will be made of vinyl.

    Reupholster Helm for GW 330

No buttons on my 2003 - just pull straight up. (I also have the thumb screws.) If they haven't been taken off in a while, posts could have corrosion. If you can get some WD 40 or silicone on the posts, may help. A strong yank with slight rocking should do it.

    33 Express Water Pressure

Check thread history - there have been numerous past posts on this subject. Probably a weakening pump. On mu 2003, the pump is located behind the port side wall of the rear berth. A few screws, remove the wall panel and you'll have full access. As you'll discover when you research, the new...

    What would you do differently?

When you are in the proximity of anything hard or immovable, go slow and deliberate with the throttles. If possible, practice docking and low speed handling at different engine angles and forward/reverse inputs.

    Length of anchor rope

I have 50' of chain and 300 feet of mega-plait 1/2" line on my 2003 Express based in SoCal. Works great with my original Simpson-Lawrence windlass. I found the mega-plait (12 strand) worked a lot better for me than the 8-plait. The 8-plait had more stretch and would slip too much through my...

    Rope Splicing

Here in SoCal, most West Marine stores do rope to chain splice.

    GW 330 Express Recommendations

Just my 2 cents and personal experience. Yesterday, I took out my '03 Express with 90 hour, fairly new Yamaha 250's 4.2L, for a 150 mile fishing excursion. Boat and engines performed flawlessly. Ran HEAVY - 4 men, 220 gallons of fuel, full water tanks, a lot of fishing gear and two full bait...

    Yamaha 17-M Props

Pardon me for posting this here, but I feel that this section would get more interest for these. I re-powered and have a pair of SS Saltwater Series counter-rotating 17-M props for sale (15 1/4 - 17 P). I had them on my 330 Express with 225's. There in great shape - no dents, no dings, no...

    Raw water wash down

This is odd - the water systems not that complicated. Unscrew the water exit handles (shower head, sink faucet, etc.) and try running water to make sure the handles aren't clogged. Even though the handle moves, possible the raw water thru-hull is broken.

    I never looked into the 4 blades - I really can't answer if they're a better choice.
