    248 Voyager fresh water fill

In 99 at least, there was no separate vent. I know because I completely removed mine to clean it. The only other thing not mentioned is the fill hose could be kinked restricting flow.

    248 Voyager fresh water fill

The 99 we had used a vented cap. My guess is your hose is closing off the fill and it can't vent.

    It's official - 228 is no more :-(

The cat's meow would be a similar length\width boat with elevated forward seating that can be used under way, that allows for cabin room below. The challenge is getting all the dimensions to work without an offensive compromise in performance, function, or asthetics. If only I had several weeks...

Break in twin F150 on 1999 268 islander

Our 248 with a 225 ox66 would at best get 2.7 mpg. Grady tests showed 3.0. The prop had been reworked and I'm sure had something to do with it. The 270 with 150's and a decent load shows 2.4 from Grady. I thought that had to be complete BS considering 225's can't crack 2.0. If the Yamaha flow...

    It's official - 228 is no more :-(

Yup. You are about 10-15 years too young to know that history is repeating itself. There was a boat boom in the 80's. Then it went bust. This time the loan duration is a lot longer for many.

Break in twin F150 on 1999 268 islander

Looks and sounds great! I love the sound of twin 4 cylinders. The little I have ran mine were music to the ears! Resealed both lower units and now I'm elbow deep in counterbalancer replacements. Hopefully this weekend I'll be on the water.

    It's official - 228 is no more :-(

How do they know there is no demand? Market research. The problem with that reasearch is that most new boat buyers are buying what the Jones's have. The new boat buyers only know what the Jones's have and don't know what else is out there or why they might want it. Most likely don't have the...

    It's official - 228 is no more :-(

That's a shocker. I thought the 228 was still a model in demand. They probably sold 30 last year, but 60+ of the same size dc. The good news is: for those that own them, depreciation will slow and/or values will start going up over time.

    repower

The Merc shouldn't be 175 lbs more. At the most maybe 100 lbs. At 3.4 liters it will out muscle every 4 cylinder 4 stroke by a significant margin.

    Temporarily Stumped Grady Customer Service

I'd just go by the heavier weight. Mine definitely is not close to the lighter weight. As for why - I have another guess. For the 270 they upped the max power to 500 in 2005. With twin 150's I can crack 45 mph. A set of strong twin 250's would make this boat run mid to high 50's. On a CC you...

    Temporarily Stumped Grady Customer Service

I think that is the same hull as the 270. I just had a similar conversation a few weeks ago and got conflicting information. Carolynn sent me the trailer set up sheet for 2005. The sheet comes from the engineering department and shows the max weight of a boat fully optioned with the heaviest...

Steering ram - should it do this?

Should this arm be move independently from the one on the other side? My other boat doesn't, but the new twin engine boat does... and the ram is leaking despite the previous owner claiming he replaced the seal. I'm wondering if I'm getting too much side load 9n the ram and it can't seal.

It finally happened. My new to me 270.

Only if I were an Olympic weight lifter. Too heavy.
