    aluminum transom trim

Mine is at the dealer now getting the new Grady composite cap put on. However, on mine, the aluminum began corroding from the outer edge, not from the screw holes.

Mississippi, Ohio, Cumberland Rivers and Kentucky Lake. Eleven days, through to pulling boat.

Thanks for the appreciation. Its fun to do when I can. Magical: I realize I didn't answer your question as to what's next. I've skipped over Lakes Huron and Michigan for when I have more time and, possibly, a bigger boat. I'll plan to do those two Great Lakes next summer. So for now I have a...

    Fuel issues

Hello Joker and welcome to the forum. I've not experienced this problem before so I don't have good advice. However, I'll suggest you post this in the general forum where it will be seen by all members, rather than just in the GGG where it won't get so much exposure. Also, when you say the tanks...

Trapper, let me preface by saying I don't know. Then I'll get in over my head anyway. The prop is a SWS II 15.25 x 17. I do recall that when we switched out from the original F250 to the newer F300, the 4.2 engines had a different gear reduction. I don't know how much that contributed to my...

I added a short video in the media area, to the 'Journey' section. It is a short clip of running on Kentucky Lake on a cold morning with steam rising from the warm water. The link follows. https://www.greatgrady.com/media/ab82d3f3-447b-4abc-9dd5-36ee6ebf3710-mov.16/

Cold morning on Kentucky Lake. Barley audible words are “cool, literally”.

Boy do I feel dumb. I didn’t even know we had a media section!

Mississippi, Ohio, Cumberland Rivers and Kentucky Lake. Eleven days, through to pulling boat.

Pulling the boat at Lake Barkley State Park. Mississippi River staining not near as bad as I thought it would be. By the way, forward bilge stayed bone dry this trip despite a few pretty good t-storms. (I believe that comfirms that Lake Erie's short chop was climbing in bilge outlet.)...

Mississippi, Ohio, Cumberland Rivers and Kentucky Lake. Eleven days, through to pulling boat.

With my missing section complete, I wanted to see more of the Cumberland River. So at the end of a quite cold Day 8, I came back up Kentucky Lake and over to the Cumberland River. In this wide section opposite Kentucky Lake, the River is know as Lake Barkley. I ended the day at Lake Barkley...

But the day gave way to bright sunshine and the warmth it brings. The Yamaha and Grady loved the cold. I had just topped off with fuel but still saw great fuel numbers despite the weight. For these numbers, I’m going against a slight current with the wind at my back in freshwater.

Mississippi, Ohio, Cumberland Rivers and Kentucky Lake. Eleven days, through to pulling boat.

Well MagicaI I sampled some of both sides. Green Turtle is most popular for Loopers, but I prefer 'mom and pop' when I can find it. I took two 'weather days’ at Moors Resort near northern end of Kentucky Lake. The Lodge is simple hotel rooms and the slip is $10. And the family run staff are...

Mississippi, Ohio, Cumberland Rivers and Kentucky Lake. Eleven days, through to pulling boat.

Early morning start from Paducah with one more lock to go. Early morning heading west on the Ohio. The entry into the Cumberland River is kinda sorta visible to the right. The Cumberland was beautiful. iPhone can’t do it justice. Saw five bald eagles in a short stretch. ...

Mississippi, Ohio, Cumberland Rivers and Kentucky Lake. Eleven days, through to pulling boat.

You have to overnight somewhere on the Mississippi. I chose, as many do, to anchor up in the Diversion Canal near Cape Girardeau. It’s 110 miles from Hoppies. Sunrise on Day 3 from the Diversion Canal. The far bank of the Mississippi is in the background. That’s my Yammy in the foreground...

Mississippi, Ohio, Cumberland Rivers and Kentucky Lake. Eleven days, through to pulling boat.

Once past St. Louis, there are quite a few scenic areas on Mississippi. But swirling currents are always present. I left Hoppies to begin Day 2 in a lifting fog. Very stupid move to assume lifting would continue. I got about ten miles and patchy fog became pea soup. I couldn’t see either...

Mississippi, Ohio, Cumberland Rivers and Kentucky Lake. Eleven days, through to pulling boat.

I can understand the confusion since I skipped a section. Speaking approximately, I put in a little north of St. Louis because those are last marinas on Mississippi and I ended a previous trip there. This trip officially ends at Kentucky Lake since I started a previous trip there. That was the...

Mississippi, Ohio, Cumberland Rivers and Kentucky Lake. Eleven days, through to pulling boat.

Actually, for all of days 1 and 2 and half of day 3, I was ‘downbound’ as they say, running with the current. Hoppies is the last fuel stop and it is about 30 miles south of St. Louis. Use to be, Green Turtle, in Kentucky Lake, about 250 miles away, was next fuel. Now we have Paducah City dock...

Sorry it’s been a while. Finally have (marginal) WiFi. My sister was photographer for day 1, then I was on my own. Bridge over Alton Marina looked cool at 5 am: St. Louis Arch. Gateway to the West:

Mississippi, Ohio, Cumberland Rivers and Kentucky Lake. Eleven days, through to pulling boat.

Day 2: Had to clear Melvin Price Lock in the dark in order to make Lock 27 before it shut down at 9 am. At least I had my mom, sister and brother-in-law as crew today. Will eventually get the St. Louis Arch photos from my sister. Day ended at Hoppies Marina in Kimmswick, MO. - last fuel stop...
