What makes the one shown two piece is the removable screen. A lot of guys don't want the screws in the deck, but it will work. The OEM replacement, where the top flange unscrews, makes fitting the hose easier.

Since you are not familar with winterizing, if the need arises, make sure you use RV antifreeze, and not automotive. My GW has a filter mounted on the intake side of the pump. Taking it apart, and cleaning the screen greatly improved flow.

Welcome. You could flush with a bleach solution. I wouldn't recommend trying to drink from the tap, regardless of what you do to clean it.

You have plenty of clearance, tall guys are used to looking and ducking. The scary thought to me, with the full width rocket launchers, and I have one, is that someone looking down, and using the step up to the walkaround, or to exit the boat, might drive the bottom of a rod holder into the top...

First, can I have your old prop? I'm still running 225 two stroke, but I would guess 17 or 19 pitch would be the starting point. Do you still have the old prop, and did you try it on the new motor?

Is the valve under the stairs the actual sea cock, or an inline shut off?

Can you not trace the red wire? Do you have a second switch by the livewell, as well as an on/off at the dash? I would test the wire you cut off of the red with a light, to see if it is hot

2.5 to 3 feet is not "playing it safe", because you will eventually find a rock, or a stump, or similar. If my boat was on a trailer, and I was going fishing in shallow water, I would be in the habit of swapping my expensive ss prop for a cheap aluminum one.
