Why not repower with 300s. My 330 is fine with 250s but 300s would be better fit and burn less fuel - at least that's what a factory yamaha guy told me recently. No idea on shaft length.

Thanks. Corrosion problem on F250 say it isn't so. I sure hope it isn't related to the problems with the older 225s. I will need to make sure we inspect this the next time the water pumps are changed.

On a sailfish, the water heater is forward. Not sure about a marlin. On my 330 it is behind a panel to right of helm.

Thanks. When we bought the boat it had a litte over 430 hours on the generator. I assume a valve adjustment was done at the 100 hour service. Were going to attempt one this spring sometime. Does anyone know where the oil filter is on the 4200?

Probably just worn out. You need a new one and maybe go with a higher weight.

Agree with the wet sanding afterwards if you have ghosting. I had painted decals on my new boat and used oven off on one side but it took a long time so I did light sanding with wet 1,500 then 1,000 and it was much faster. Either way, you will probably have to light compound afterwards.
