Need info to order Edson Steering Wheel

Seastar helms use a 5/8-20 nut. Edson and other makers make different size nuts, because hynautic and Teleflex both use a different size. I too am hunting for a replacement wheel with a knob...I had one on the last boat and it makes maneuvering around the dock much easier.

    New to me 180-1st pic

Nope...not my old one. It was sold to a Canuck back in February. Sprockets and I exchanged a few PMs and phone calls after discovering a common link from our pasts....and actually he hails from our old neck off the woods. Apparently we also both have stayed in Bears Den too. I...

    new electronics

The electronics box door design changed from 99 to 2000. Unfortunately, the 99 opening is smaller. That said, you have some options. You can get a 7 inch screen in there, and Lowrance has a $200 rebate on the HDS Gen 1 units through the end of the month. I just did a HDS7, Standard Horizon...

Trim tabs go down....but not up? Emblem glue

Send a PM to Tabman...either here or on THT. It sounds like it's probably the switch. I don't think it's the pump, since your auto-retract feature works fine. You seem to be the only one who caught any fish over the weekend....plenty of folks who were "skunked" due to the full moon.

$1.99 apiece at O'Reilly Auto Parts. Picked up a set today and will swap them out this weekend. It's cheap insurance.

Rebuild or buy a new trailer

This was the tongue of my Magic Tilt trailer that was under my 180...had no idea it had rusted from the inside out until it started to bend while I was driving down the highway. It's a miracle it didn't end up in a ditch. IMG-20110723-00006 by parthery, on Flickr

Rebuild or buy a new trailer

Assuming the axle is fine, two new hubs will run you $100 or so, and a pair of springs will be $75. I'd plan on using the angle grinder and cut the old springs off.

    Oil

I've been using the Pennzoil XLF synthetic for years...its less than $20/gallon at Walmart. I personally think the engine runs better and smokes less....

    225 Tournament Electronics Upgrade

8 hours later....we have a full complement of electronics on the new boat. When it arrived in my driveway, it had a non-working AM/FM cassette and a Lowrance in-dash digital depthmeter. The upgrade: Lowrance HDS-7; Standard Horizon 1600; Digital 529 Antenna; Poly Planar MD-70 remote stereo...

    222 With 200 Yamaha

My 225 with a 200 SWS tops out at 41 and cruises comfortably at 28-30. The F200 is a strong motor....the F225 is not. It all depends on what you plan to use the boat for...

    228 Trailer

I owned a 226 with hardtop and it sat on a 7000 GVW aluminum trailer. I took delivery today of a 7000 GVW aluminum tandem trailer for my 225. It's the right size for this boat.

    New to the site.

First - welcome aboard :) Second - we are all addicted to boat porn....so you must post pics of the new boat before you are a full card - carrying member of GG. (Just kidding.) The 190 / 192 are great boats....I owned an '86 190 and we had a great time with it. Welcome....

    Installing fish finder

You should be able to download the owners manual for your boat from the GW website, if you don't already have it. The manual shows the location of the rigging tubes, if they are in your particular model. I suspect they are, because it's unlikely that GW would have throttle/shift cables...

Anyone near their late 90s 225 Tournament?

Actually, the Customer Service folks didn't have it...and they referred me to Engineering. But - I was able to get my hands on it....24.37" across the top and 23.86 across the bottom.
