Sure......I will be doing that in any event but I am not sure I can land a fish from off the stern. My splash board and the seating you see are in the way......and the fish don't always cooperate! :)

That is pretty much where I am too......I will lose the ability to lock it and drainage will be an issue but I think that cures the flex.

Thanks.......just not sure how/where I would use them. What were you thinking? The gunwale seems to be one long plank.....secured only at the ends.....it is twisting under side pressure.

I would be very surprised if mounting plates for outriggers were standard. Personally I would find out from GW and if not, pay them to do it. I did not like the aftermarket stuff I saw available when I looked into it a while back.

Not sure where you are located but a canvas guy came out to my boatyard to measure my Offshore for a new enclosure....they are usually happy to do that.

I would do it...why not? All you need is a ring of silicone/goop around each hole....or even one ring that encircles all three holes and you are good to go.

My top is fiberglass and I used plywood backing plates...and 3- 1/4 inch bolts per tab. If the cost is not excessive it can only help.....right?

MLangley.....just fyi....my Offshore is a 1982....I didn't fully trust the hardtop to support the rocket launchers with my larger rods in them while underway so I backed up the mounting brackets with marine plywood on the underside of the hardtop and through bolted them. Solid as a rock
