Still glad you "Got the Grady?"

mronzo.. My 1st was a '92 Seafarer that I had for 10 years. #2 is my current 232 Gulfstream. I see no other boat that comes close to what I want..Only complaint?? Leaking cabins on both boats. I am in luv with my Gulf..Hope to have it for many years.

    What trailer for Release 283?

I have been sorry TWICE by letting a dealer figure in a trailer for my 22 Seafarer and my (sold) 18 Donzi. They like many others in life, figure the bare minimum and price it attractively. I trailer everywhere so it affected me more than you, and I had multiple problems. I replaced the Donzi...

Leave boat in water all winter - NJ?

I think GT put it best... If the winter is a nasty one, the number of doable days on the water would not be worth the risk of damage and deterioration caused by exposure to the elements. At least that's my way of thinking.

True differnce between the seaV2 hull and pre 1992 hulls

Seahunter.. If I did ride in a SeaV2 20-footer then that would explain the negligable difference between the ride of the two hulls. It may be that I have NOT ridden in a pre-SeaV2 hull. Thanks for the update..

True differnce between the seaV2 hull and pre 1992 hulls

I agree with Ritchie on the resale value..Run the boat and have fun.. I took my 1st demo Grady ride in an Adventure 208;pre-Seav2. I subsequently bought a Seafarer 22,circa 1992, the 1st year the SeaV2's were introduced. The difference?? Barely noticeable. I attribute what little...

    Trim tabs

All of the above.. 1.) Lower them down in a choppy, steep head sea that would pound the boat otherwise. Your bow will drop, the "V" will cut thru the chop and your ride will be improved. This is effective only to a point. When the head seas get over 2-3 foot you'll have to start throttling...

Twin Engine Handling (or lack thereof)

Fishermanabb has a great point too.. Roll up your side curtains..I drop all my canvas with a beam crosswind. It significantly reduces your vulnerability to be blown off-course. Better to re snap it than be mad about a nick in the gel that might have been avoided. I have never operated a...

Twin Engine Handling (or lack thereof)

Capt. Bill and everyone are correct.. I will not add to their comments as I would just say the same thing a different way. This is pertinent, I think. I always try to back into the slip with my Gulfstream(twin 200's) with THROTTLES ONLY. I straighten the wheel and do it with the engines...

    Winter Storage Tips

I agree with Journeyman. I wax in the fall..I think it's good for the gel to have a coat of wax on it when it sits for months. Less work in the spring the more you do in the fall. I turn my cabin cushions up on end so air circulates underneath and around them. It sits inside my pole barn so...

    Soggy cabin ... troubleshooting

I had a wet cabin in my new Gulfstream. The way we found the source was to take a hose and soak the suspected area while one observer keeps watch inside the cabin...The trouble spot(s) will show up..

    283 RELEASE

Why the change to a Center Console after 2 cabin models for so many years? I'm like you, I had a Seafarer for 10 years, now a Gulfstream that I plan on keeping for a long time. Congrats..what a great way to wrap up 2009.

    Newer power

Not really..I can make a guess that it would be 75-100lbs. You've got the extra 35 HP and the added weight of the 4-stroke VS. 2-stroke. You can probably get specs of the 150 at the manufacturers website. You may have to research to find the weight of your 115. We need BobP, Gradyfish, NEM...

    Newer power

Hey Man.. I haven't seen many Moppies..Those are some of the real performance/offshore boats of the late 60's early 70's. My son and I have a 66 and a 67 Donzi 16 that we restored..Great boats from that era.. But to the question at hand... My only concern switching to a 4-stroke from an...

    2010 GW Trips?

I have tried to contact Tarpon Coast Grady Club before and didn't hear back from them. That said, they look like some cool cats that cruise to the places that you mentioned. Vero beach Grady Bunch headed by Bruce McAntyre(SP???) does regular Bahama runs along with coastal trips. Tampa Bay...

New boater question about the Voyager and Gulfstream

engineersx2.. The extra weight of the 200's(if I'm reading your post correctly) is negligable. As with yours, the wake washes over the back of the cowlings if I pull it off plane in a hurry. The scuppers are underwater, but they drain deck water fine..I must confess I'm not sure how that...

Our Bimini, Bahamas trip last June!

Great shots! Thanks for putting them up! I've always wanted to make that crossing to Bimini, but cannot put enough days together in a row to make it happen. You certainly lucked out with the light winds and calm seas from your pics. 2 questions.. Is the water as clear everywhere over there...
