Some additional "ballast" was added to the hull forward to compensate for the additional weight of a 4 stroke engine over a 2 stroke. Otherwise, the additional weight in the stern would have put the scuppers under water.

Have you called GW Customer Service? Suntan lotion caused it. And, at one point, GW was replacing them for free. It happened to my 226, and one phone call was all it took. The replacements glue on over the old ones.

I did a 10" Lowrance in my 226. Fit perfectly. I had it off centered on purpose with the intention of adding a remote mic for the VHF but I ended up selling the boat before I did that upgrade.

I had one with an F225...would run about 46 at WOT. If you are tall, make sure you sea trial the boat and try to run it standing up. I'm 6'3" and never could get comfortable running the boat standing up...the side mounted throttle was too low. Other than that...loved the boat.
