i think you are referring to a half ton, not a one ton. also, a newer half ton will have more than a 1,000 payload.
that being said, your point is valid. in the real world, you will eat up payload faster than towing capacity with a half ton
damn, thats a lot of truck. likely overkill for that boat in general, but given you need to tow a long way, it really makes sense. im pulling a chase with a 1/2 ton for now. next truck will be a 3/4 ton for sure. how do you like the ford?
wow, you have done a lot. now that almost everything is new, there wont be much left to do. might be easier to justify keeping it since there isnt much more to spend on / replace, haha
that is stupid expensive. the 12,000lb for boats 27-34 feet from air dock has a retail price of just over $7k. depending on specifics, you may be able to get a less expensive one...
same thing with the Chase. 3975 to 4843 pounds from 2005 to 2006. No major changes to the boat either (2000 the running surface was extended, in 2002 the console and live well were reconfigured). I asked grady about this, and not a lot of info regarding it. their best guess was that maybe...
just another note about the gopro. i dont know if the newer ones still have the feature, but my on a hiking trip, my cousin set his to take a picture every 5 seconds. obviously you miss some specific moment shots, but you would probably miss those if your were reaching for a phone real quick...
so, thats 121 lbs per motor for a total added weight of 242. the difference is having a big buddy sitting on the back of the boat compared to going out alone....
you could offset some of that by switching to lighter batteries, or moving the batteries forward.
i just bought caulk through my local grady dealer for this purpose. its the caulk that jkg51781 mentioned above.
i also did all my deck plates and screws. i am using lifeseal for that since that isnt visible.
as said above, both will contribute to it. im sure the boat lists more/less if you walk to one side or the other.
the water tank that holds 20 gal will be almost 170 lbs. if you are close to that, just stand on the other side and have someone tell you if it levels out
I have been on the site for a little while under the name Atlantic Blue. Other than looking forward to spending time in the Atlantic and the fact that the ocean is blue, there wasnt much meaning to the name. I had joined GG to learn and do research before purchase. Last fall i bought a 2000...
i took a quick look on amazon last night. the regular ones are little rubber flaps that can curl over time. there is another option that uses plastic instead of the rubber. they wont curl.
if luckydude can nit-pick, i can too...
max hp doesnt ALWAYS mean max weight. the same hp motor can vary due to 2 or 4 stroke, and from one manufacturer to another, and from year to year of the same manufacturer. in your case, you may have had the heaviest motors on the marked with your max...
