    bushings and sliders

Search these boards for posts about seat sliders. This topic has come up several times over the years. That said, the seats may be Todd but finding the seat slide bushings can be frustrating. Note that the seat manufacturer and the slider assembly manufacturer may be different. The OEM sliders...

Radar Shuts Down When Trim Tabs Activated?

The fact that the negative wire is a smaller gouge is not necessarily a problem as long as it is of sufficient size to meet the voltage drop specs. Assuming your accessory breaker aft near the battery switch is 30 amp, you can look up the wire size needed to met the 3% voltage drop for...

Radar Shuts Down When Trim Tabs Activated?

Sounds like a good plan. I would confirm that a 20 amp fuse ( use a circuit breaker) is enough for the stall current draw ( the max current the pump will draw when kept running after the tabs are either fully retracted or fully deployed. 20 may be fine, I am just nor sure.

I didn't expect that. Nice work. I learned something new!

Radar Shuts Down When Trim Tabs Activated?

To have a safe installation, a direct connection to a batter requires a fuse or breaker within 18 inches or so of the battery. This is to prevent a fire should the tab feed short out to ground. Note also that if you connect directly to the battery , the tabs will work the battery switch turned...

Radar Shuts Down When Trim Tabs Activated?

Whoa.. I just reread your post and saw the pat about the new MFD. In simple terms, you are drawing more current and that is causing more voltage drop. If you don't have a bad or corroded connection somewhere, it is possible that your accessory feed wiring is undersized. Other rewiring, a fix may...

Radar Shuts Down When Trim Tabs Activated?

It's not a surge, it is a voltage drop. When the tabs are activated, the current flow will cause a drop. When the drop is more than devices are 'comfortable' with, those devices may shut down or reboot. This is pretty common for MFDs Troubleshooting depends on whether this is something new or...

    Freedom 275 house battery

What is the engine configuration and what level of Helm Master does the boat have. I have no idea why the boat has to have shore power since that wouldn't be used at sea. Perhaps there are batteries that need to be topped off when docked? Sounds weird. If the boat has AC for example or a 120V...

2004 mercury 150 opt two stroke

What has been done to it as far as maintenance goes? In general, there are things that need attention annually and some that can be done every couple of years depending on usage hours and usage conditions. In addition to the typical items like gas filters and separators, lower unit pressure...

    Rebuild or Replace

It may just need some maintenance. If you haven't 'touched' it for the 4 years you owned it, it will most certainly need maintenance. Hopefully you did do unnecessary damage to it. Have you changed the lower unit oil, fuel filters, etc routinely?

    Joystick steering problems

If you look at the OP last message, it it seems that this isn't a bad ground issue but rather a user induced NO ground issue. Many of us, including myself, have left off a bround battery common cable after reinstalling a battery back. No mysteries here, just a small chuckle.

    Speaking of fabric

In sunny conditions, darker colors can get hot to the touch. Darker colored materials also may age faster from the sun's UV rays.

    Atlantic 26 cushions

30 years old and only 60 or so made.. I would agree that is a long shot:) I was led to believe that the model was only made for two years, 91 and 92 but I did see a listing for a 94. That's curious

    Seafarer 228 fuel fill hose

I wouldn't trust a number unless I could verify it or make a reasonable estimate and add some extra. One method that may work is to remove the hose at the tank and use a snake (like an electricians snake) inserted into the fill fitting. Push it through until it comes out the open hose in the...

Yamaha 175hp 1995 175TXRT Replace Steering Bracket Assembly

It's looking more like a bad steering cable/box to me or a problem with the steering tube. If the motor moves side to side easily AND the bracket in question also moves then It cant be the bracket that is binding. What am I missing here??

    Refinishing teak trim

Ig using oxalic acid, avoid getting it on a galvanized trailer and if it does get on the trailer have a hose ready to rinse it off. This applies to a lot of hull cleaners also that contain oxalic acid

    Twin Yamaha 150’s woes

    19 year old fuel lines

A1 has a fire resistant outside coating and is rated for below the deck applications. B1 does not have that coating and is used above the deck, for example between a primer bulb and the motor. Both have UV resistance. What can be important is to look for the -15 rating meaning the hose is...
