cabin window leak in 1990 gulfstream 23

Catch is right.. I had the same leak on my portside window in my '07 Gulfstream. When my friend took the window out, he noticed the hole was cut a little big at the factory. He used a bit more sealant than usual and fixed it. I don't understand why they charge 6-figures for these boats and...

    Cleaning Gradys..

Part of the reason I started this thread was to get into the "frame of minds" that owners have. I drove myself nuts cleaning my Seafarer for 10 years..Boat looked great and sold quick when I finally threw in the towel and had to take a break. The fun I had on the boat wasn't enough to...

    Cleaning Gradys..

Call it whatever;I'm just glad someone else besides me has to meticulously place the pillows and towels a certain way in the cabin. Hey, I forgot about the 'salt factor." That would dictate even more cleaning, as you described above. Do you flush your Yamahas after every trip? When we do our...

    Cleaning Gradys..

I was at my dealer getting some work done on my 232 when I saw an Express 265 roll in..A 2000 or an '01, I think. It was horrible..... Even with a bottom job it had incredible marine growth on the hull. Engines were not tilted out so the lower units were just as bad. Apparently it was a...

    Capt. Chris.

Chris; No prob..We didn't go anyway, I had to get a couple pesky cabin leaks fixed on the 232..One around the dash panel and the other was water entering behind the fiberglass plate where the GPS and sounder is mounted. Anyway, yeah, I read about all the carnage..Sad stuff. There is...

    Tournament 307

I want GW to stay in business..I am all for whatever they have to do to appeal to the ever-changing masses. I love my Gulfstream..I stay overnite in it every time I take it out..A walkaround is perfect for me.. I can also see how a Tournament wears a lot of different hats..besides, they look...

Gulf Stream ride versus Trophy Pro

Hey Fighter.. I cannot give a direct comparison..I DO have a Gulfstream and HAD a Seafarer 22. The difference is night-and-day.. The Seafarer beam is 8'0 (I think) and the Gulfstream is 9'3. I think the Trophy Pro is 8'6. Anyway, the Gulfstream is waaayy better riding than the Seafarer...

    Capt. Chris.

Just a thought.. I have pondered the idea of trailering down to Cumberland for Sun Nite,Mon. and Tues. of next week. That would be the eve of the 7th, all day on the 8th and 9th. I don't know how much time you spend down there, but if you happen to be there anyway, I would be happy to motor up...

    Great weekend on the water

I have run past Harsens a couple times with my son on the way to Port Huron..Cool area.... I stay aboard my Gulfstream almost every time I trailer it somewhere and launch. Enjoy your rig..'09 will be here shortly.....

advice for powering the Tournament 275

Ocnsir is right.. My twin 200 4-strokes on my Gulfstream gets slightly better mileage than my single 250 on my old Seafarer. You never say never, but I don't ever plan on going back to a single....

    Power for a 1993 or new 208

I understand CJ... It's always easier for me to spend someone else's money than my own.. The advantage I see with more power in open-ocean and inland situations is the engine works less(and oftentimes burns the same or less fuel) to power a boat at a given speed. This leads to longer engine...

    Power for a 1993 or new 208

I have yet to hear anyone say that they have too much power on their boat and want a smaller engine....

WOW, I just bought my first GRADY

As long as this has turned into a "docking" convo, one more thing I've learned..(almost the hard way..) Drop your weather canvas if there's a crosswind to your slip. It acts like a sail and causes big problems.

Questions - how to restore an older grady - 28 years

Good Advice from Haskindm.. I have a 232 Gulfstream;I'm a proud Grady owner, but have never restored one. I DID have a '67 Donzi Ski Sporter 16 restored. It's a good thing I love the boat and intend to keep it, 'cause the money that went into the restoration went off the scale.. It's just like...

    Scuppers and engine in water

As I've posted before, my 232 Gulfstream has the max power, twin 200 4-Strokes. With full fuel, as it always has when I begin a trip, the scuppers are barely underwater and the engines "nosecones" are submerged when tilted up. None of this matters..The scuppers drain efficently, and i just...

WOW, I just bought my first GRADY

Great Advice from Jehines.. I was always steering trying to back into a slip along with using the "Sticks"(Throttles,GaryM). That was too much to think about; One action would undo the other, and I got myself in trouble more than once. I have much better luck with my 232 just using the...

    232 power one more time

I ordered a 232 Gulfstream last year with twin 200's. The boat is an '07. I would not recommend anything less than the 200's. The boat does NOT sit too low in the water, the weight of the 200's is NOT a problem and the boat performs great without working the engines too hard. I cruise at...

Grady-Whites on the Ohio in Louisville, KY

Hey Chris; I, too, am always interested in Gradys around the Midwest, as there are very few. I suspect the Canyon is probably just there for the short-term, maybe a stop on it's way to the Coast..Did it have KY no.'s on the hull? I say this 'cause a 336 with twin 350's is an unlikely combo for...

    towing question

One More Thing... I bought an adequate 3/4 Chev to pull my Seafarer in '94. I wanted a diesel then, and everyone talked me out of it.(To be fair, I wasn't TOTALLY sure about it.) I now pull a 10,000 LB Gulfstream. I had to upgrade to a Diesel Dually as the Chev.couldn't hang...
