2 stroke oil dripping from air box on 225TXRR

You didn't mention what year. On our 225 oil will collect at the bottom of the silencer too. There is a small vacuum line going to either the crank case or intake manifold (can't remember which one) to pull this back into the engine to avoid a significant puddle of oil. That said, there is still...

    Twin 150's or 300 on a Journey 258

Pros of twins: -better maneuvering at low speed. -greater security. Cons: -greater fuel consumption. -twice the maintenance headache and expense. Where I boat there are coastguard stations close buy and sufficient traffic to lower the risk of being stranded for long in the unlikely event of a...

    '84 Overnighter questions

My dad had the same boat. We simply used it for storage because it was not insulated. Placing a plug won't do much good to prevent water intrusion. If you have water coming up through that hole you have serious problems! If you want to prevent water from ever getting to that point...

    Sell it or Keep it?

OK. Here is my $0.02 If your situation is anything like mine, you can kiss boating good by for a year or two at least (2 kids 2 years apart). That said, if the boat is costing you little or nothing, and it suits you well, mothball it and keep it. The boat is already 12 years old. In the grand...

    Running on a single engine

I wasn't implying you were boasting, I was sincerely impressed! Since you are operating within the wot range, I agree you might be ok.

    Running on a single engine

Impressive, BUT as you mentioned I wouldn't make a habit of this. The load on the engine to pull that off is creating heat unlike no condition the engine was likely built for. I would consult with BRP to determine if this is safe, otherwise you might attempt this in an emergency condition and...

    330 Express Performance

If your props have ever been serviced, it is not unlikely for them to be a little "off". If you really think you are over revving from what Grady tested, try getting the props cupped. Way cheaper than new props and the result could be just as good.

    Groco Sanitation Issue

Where is your discharge thru Hull located? I believe the location of our Voyager would have the opposite result. Can anyone with a Voyager confirm if a vacuum also is the result of what has been stated?

Vehicle and trailer to tow Freedom 225

If you are looking for a vehicle to get you there without buying, try a Toyota dealer. 3 years ago I rented an extended cab 5.7 Tundra to bring our Voyager back from Florida. The truck is a beast of a half ton! I actually forgot on several occasions that I had 7500 lbs behind me. The price was...

Vehicle and trailer to tow Freedom 225

X2 with parthery. It would be a little different if you said an F150 (for example) since it can be equipped to haul 11000 lbs + and you opted for the least powerful engine. The chassis and most other components have the potential to handle a lot more load. I would guess BMW does not have...

24' Tournament spring refresh (very pic heavy)

Great work, but I'm most impressed by something other than the improvement of the boat. I'm most impressed you pulled this off married with 2 young kids!! :wow I'm in a similar family situation, In but instead of a boat, I'm in the process of trying to do an engine upgrade in my truck. I...

looking for my first Grady White

Mitchell, Several years ago we were in a very similar situation. We passed on the islander because of the sub-par performance of the single 250 and the expense of repowering was not an option. If the new F300 works well, then an etec should be very similar in performance minus the low speed...

What size Prop for 24 Voyager 250hp OX66

Grady customer service might be able to tell you too. I would strongly suggest considering a 4 blade if you regularly haul more than 2 adults. I still need to move my engine up one hole to see if this eliminates my porpoising and bow high running angle. If it doesn't help, prop gods and others...

    Grady White 248 Voyager

It is definitely a sea v II. The change was made in the early 90's. As for other Hull differences, I don't think anything changed until the Journey came out. They extended the running bottom for increased buoyancy for 4 strokes.

Getting ready to install my new fuel tank

As for 2x4' s, composite deck boards could be an option that will be close. Aftermarket flow meters exist that are a fraction of the outrageously priced oem units.
