Getting gas from boat gas tank

I plug it into the lighter socket at the helm or in the car. Boat is usually on trailer with gas cans are on the ground. Also used it to empty tanks or transfer from one to the other. Gravity helpful but not necessary.

    Boating after dark - options?

You really need some type of heading sensor to orient the radar when you are going slow. Otherwise the chartplotter map and boat heading at slow speed may not be accurate. Also you need to practice this during the day with someone with you while you use instruments only. Technology will not...

How much 1/2" anchor line fits in the Grady-White marlin 300 anchor box?

Best guess is 300'. Most canyon guys tie off to lobster pot . Or have laundry baskets of anchor line and a float ball with ring to pull the anchor. Windlass's are not really up for the task of anchoring in 600+ feet of water. Spot lock is just "lazy" wishful thinking.

    Identify a part

They use a thermal breakers on ether side of the circuit to open up if overloaded. Good answer instead of a fuse - it will reset quickly without you having to find a replacement fuse! But if it keeps tripping ask yourself "Why?".

    Marlin Drain Plug Water

On earlier models GW isolated the fuel compartment from the forward bilge. There is a long piece of 1/2" PVC that passes thru the fuel compartment. that connects the forward bilge to the aft bilge. There are two limber holes on the two fuel compartments that drain to the aft bilge. They plugged...

    Electrical issues

I agree with Seasick on use of LED's with colored lenses. The LED's are very directional too. I use the clear incandescent bulbs. A little dielectric grease on the connection. These light housing are not dry and the bulb and contacts take a beating. Have a spare handy and check them twice a...

    gas tank

A custom aluminum tank around 40 gallons from SP Tanks in Clearmont, NJ would be around your $650 number and certainly under $1,000. Have a certified tank builder make it for you not just a sheet metal shop.

    Electrical issues

Get a voltmeter out, pull the switch panel and check that the circuit breakers on the affected functions have 12VDC. When multiple things don't work look for what they have in common - that's the switch panel. It's possible the previous owner hacked something here or it's just a bad connection...

How do I turn off tracks on my Garmin?

Go to Navigation Chart screen. Options...>Layers>Manage User Data>Tracks>Active Tracks...>Record Mode>Off I don't recommend turning active tracks off. You should Save any active tracks you want. You can save a bunch if you like. Then clear active tracks to get rid of the clutter.

3M 5200/4200/4000 are all fine because of their adhesive properties. You can do short strips too just make sure you have them over the tank supports. Don't forget to do the ends and the blocking where the tank makes contact.

    Wiper Blades

I had success with NAPA finding the old style "school bus" stainless wipers and blades. I also switched to Ancor auto arms and blades for a while. The arms can be popped off and replaced. Two years ago I removed the wipers completely from the boat.
