    Grady White Accessories Online

I would talk to a GW Dealer and their parts department. They have been helpful. I have not seen a web site or accessory catalog for GW boats.

That could work too but I put my baitwell there. I may rig something up like that on the other side.

Im replacing my 265 Express Fuel Tanks!!!!! Pic heavy

Be careful with the tank dimensions. Not sure you are going to be able to slide the new tank back in. You should have nitrile strips attached to the tank and pad out where the blocks are. My tanks came out easy but I had to cut to fit the HDPE blocks back in. Also use a Torx head screw on the...

    Raw water winterization

The baitwell pump is a centrifugal pump and should be dry. Push release, 1/4 turn and pop it out. Done. I put a hose on my raw water washdown and pour pink antifreeze back into the pump. Cycle it burp pink stuff out. Take hose off and leave it off. Done. Freshwater is more involved. I took my...

Thanks. Some interesting mounting and videos. Difference though is they are recording video. I’m interested in a live view. I have a few ideas for mounting I’m working on now. I’ll post something later this week.

    Wash down pump :o(

The switches arc internally and the contacts burn up from the current draw and cycling. That switch was made by Cherry Electronics 50 years ago and the knock offs today are inexpensive. I gave you that part number because I know it works. Last time I bought them it was $10 for 10!

    Wash down pump :o(

The SurFlow pumps have a microswitch in them that is worth changing. It could be a flat spot (bad winding) but that has not been the case for me. Here is...

    covers 2001 islander

In NJ Fisher makes a quality boat cover. It's going to have to be made somewhat nearby. A good boat cover is heavier and has reinforcement and support to handle snow load in your area. Also important that it be drum tight otherwise the wind will tear it up. Where are you?

The plan now is to fabricate and enclosure for the camera and attach to to the lower unit. Could be fiberglass or 3D printed. The camera has a 70 degree x 118 degree viewing angle so it can be pointed down and still see the surface. Also the motor can be rotated or tilted to give additional...

GoPro live underwater 1080p feed to Garmin 8612 chartplotter

Thank's! I'm sure others are interested as well. Won''t get the boat in the water until mid-January. In the meantime working all my tackle and teasers. I'll know in a couple of days if the camera is useful.

GoPro 7 Black doesn't like charging the battery in the waterproof case. Appears to overheat and shut down. Same problem with the newer cameras. Without the battery it will run all day. One of the mounts I'm considering is on the cavitation plate on one of the F150's. Not sure it's deep enough...

    Dash modernization

You could take the radio and chartplotter out, remove the handles, and install display's there. Re-glass the opening allowing you to go wider and cut new holes. I like two display but they may not fit side-by-side. One of mine are in the overhead box. If only one will fit a Garmin 8612xsv...

This is really an experiment to see what's under the boat while I'm fishing. During the Winter I concentrate on sailfishing in clear water. Bump trolling live bait or kite fishing while on the sea anchor. I'll also do some slow trolling to cover some ground around 4 to 6 knots and stop to live...

    Considering painting vs. Gel coat

AwlGrip can be sprayed or rolled. From what I read below they don't recommend sanding or buffing the topcoat. AwlCraft 2000 must be sprayed and can be sanded and buffed. You won't be using AwlGrip HDT. Do not use traditional waxes on any AwlGrip topcoat finishes. Traditional waxes break down...

Electronics Recommendations for GW 235 Freedom

I would add a few things to your shopping list. Garmin Navionics Vision+ subscription for the region you fish. The shaded relief charts for US East and South are excellent. Garmin External SD card reader. Built-in SD card reader is on the back of the unit. Install a 32gb micro-SD card there to...

Electronics Recommendations for GW 235 Freedom

I have a 8612xsv at the helm and a 8610xsv up top in the electronics box. All the 86xx units are excellent and have 1920x1080 screen resolution. Larger screens are just larger display area with the same screen resolution. The 9xxx units all have 3840x2160 screen resolution. That's 4-times more...
