    WTB Bennett trim tab switch

Disconnect the power on the backside of the switch, to start with. Or do it at the pump. Or pull the fuse. Call Bennett - they're very helpful. Still another option... google for that part number - I'm sure you will find results doing that. Or, stop by your local marine store - they may...

    306 Replacement Ladder

What does the ladder look like? Add some measurements along with a pic or two. Does your local dealer have one? Try calling other dealers, too, if your local dealer can't check online with other dealers. Some boat manufacturers allow for the ability to do that within their electronic parts...

    2002 Grady White Express 265

That's way under powered, for starters. A single 225 is nowhere near enough power for anything but VERY light duty. Like most older Gradys (sore point!), you need to check the transom bang cap and the transom integrity. Lot's of info about that availabe on the internet and here with searching...

    Replacement of bolster cushions

Year round boating is great, Kirk... or so I hear! I think once you poke around a little closer inside the grommets you'll find the screws.

Mold normal inside console? 2021 GW Freedom 235.

Under the right conditions, sure, mold is "normal". The trick is preventing the "right conditions" :) And this is not always easy on a thing that spends it's life near the variables that lead to mold. As others said, clean it really well (even just plain bleach and water can work) - try to...

    Replacement of bolster cushions

Well, first... hello and welcome aboard. We are real, live people on this end, just like you - it's never a bad thing to make a nice introduction :) What have you tried so far? A picture would help for those of us not familiar with your particular setup - although we're familiar with bolster...

    205 Freedom instrument panel

I looked at pics of a 205... like Seasick said, I don't see any way to fit something larger in a smaller space. Unless you have some magic potion that defies a measuring tape :) Now... you "could" move the GPS up top using a bracket to hang the unit in FRONT (aft) of the upper dash - and then...

Help identify switch in 12V breaker box - 375 Freedom

In case you did, please don't take offense to what I asked. Keep in mind that we only have what you wrote to go off of. From what was "written", it wasn't clear that you did and it's important to get some background info or at least make sure we're all on the same page. So it's definitely not...

    1986 Seafarer 226 stringer replacement

Yup - those are definitely a step up. They were in the plan, but I ended up being on a time crunch and got the ones pictured. They're pretty beefy, though, and have held up nicely.

    Light inside the anchor locker?

If you can't physically see in there, use your phone. Set it to video and hold it at certain angles for a few seconds at a time.

    2000 Tournament

All Grady's (other than cats, of course) are a Deep V style hull... as are Sea Rays... as are many, many other brands. This is because that is a VERY generic term. Can you be more specific as to what you are asking?

Help identify switch in 12V breaker box - 375 Freedom

So with it off, your shore power still works properly? I mentioned this above... what size is the breaker? EDIT: I just took a quick look in your manual. Although I only looked quickly, I didn't see specifics about that battery switch panel that would explain that breaker. However, there...

Help identify switch in 12V breaker box - 375 Freedom

I just read what I wrote. Boy, that was a mumble-jumble bunch of thoughts! I hope it makes sense?

Help identify switch in 12V breaker box - 375 Freedom

Strange that it's not labelled if it is factory, though. Flip the switch - the other side of the white part may have the amperage rating. If not, the rating is definitely on the backside (the "guts" of the switch). It very well could be 30a or 50a, though. FYI, it would be 120V AC, not 12V...

    1986 Seafarer 226 stringer replacement

That would ABSOLUTELY make sense. While it would be mildly possible for coffin "fluid" to drain into the aft bilge and then forward into the cabin through the drainage pipe, at least the coffin fluid wouldn't have a direct route right into the cabin bilge.

    1986 Seafarer 226 stringer replacement

The thought process is solid. However I know that mine (an older boat, like Mig's) is not and has the original pass-thru hole. Or... at least I think it does... I'd have to verify that to say 100% now that you mentioned what you did. BUT... I see a lot of boats in my line of work. More of...

    1986 Seafarer 226 stringer replacement

Yikes. Yeah, that section is at least completely shot. I'm sure the rot migrated forward - how far is anyone's guess. But it might be worthwhile to at least do some more core samples moving forward (top and bottom of stringer) - if you haven't already. It might save you a bunch of time and...

    1986 Seafarer 226 stringer replacement

Does your cockpit floor extend into the cabin? Meaning, is that all one piece? Where are you going to cut the cockpit floor? Did you verify that the stringers are actually bad? And, where are they bad - or, in other words, how far forward are they bad? Have you considered just scabbing new...

    Light inside the anchor locker?

Well there's your problem - you're trying to LISTEN for a light. You can't hear light, silly! :) I honestly don't know... but take a peek inside the locker - do you see the light? What are all of the switches at your dash labelled? Try any that seem reasonable (cockpit lights, maybe?)...

    Freedom 275 house battery

OK, that's a little different than what I was thinking based on your first post. OK... here's an idea: Use the aux charging lead from your stbd (for argument's sake) engine (or an ACR if you're already using them or don't have it) to charge the house battery. Run your house supply line (the...
