So would I. Also, Skunkboat has the right response: What is the battery configuration and what switch selections did you choose?

    FYI Ongaro Wipers

Marine applications include fresh water environments. Same thing for hardware. Stainless is not necessary for non salt water situations. That said, I would think the sales person should have asked about the application

    Trailering question

Oops, my mistake:) If you have surge brakes, the reverse signal activates a solenoid which blocks the flow of fluid to the axles. Your loss of fluid is not related to the solenoid at all so keep checking. If you have drum brakes, you may want to take a look at the wheel cylinders for leaks

    Trailering question

If you attached the safety chains incorrectly, they can come loose. The correct method is to cross the chains, left chain goes on right eye on the hitch and vice versa. Most importantly, when slipping the hook on the hitch eye, insert the hook with the open end in from the bottom of the eye, not...

    Fuel pump

What make and model/year motors do you have. Originally I was going to tell you to bypass the pumps all together but decided not to suggest that without knowing the motor models. Everhoom has a point but he may have fuel injected motors. Yours may be carbed and that can make a difference with...

    Transom Issue??

It's probably fair to say that there will be issues that you didn't see during your inspection, especially if the buyer has limited or no experience with boat ownership. It's human nature to sometimes get too emotional evaluating a boat. Just be willing to walk away if you feel unsure.

    Fuel pump

If you can get the specs, mainly the flow rate and pressure, you probably can substitute a newer model similar to https://www.summitracing.com/parts/vpn-frb-5?rrec=true

Hydraulic hose length for Adventure 208 installation

Trapper, I got a chuckle out of your reply. My first though was to say that if he had to ask if it was a DIY job, he probably shouldn't attempt it:) I remember the first time I opened a dual 704 and split/ opened the cases and several bushings fell onto the deck. No prob I though and then I...

    Transom Issue??

If the dark line below the cap and above the scupper is a crack, I would be concerned more than if the line is just a stain. There is definitely some decay going on it seems but it is difficult to tell how extensive it is. If you get to see the boat, check for cracks in that spot as well behind...

Anchor Light for 2001 208 Adventure

Hopefully, the OP solved his dilemma. In the mean time, I finally go to my 208 and measured measured the anchor light mast and as I thought, it is pretty long, 35 inches from plug end to top. Of course it has a bend near the plug end to compensate for the angle of the windshield frame. The part...

    Islander Trailer Setup

Even for a short trip, you should make sure that as mentioned the main weight is on the main bunks and not the forward ones. Assuming it is easy to lower/raise the forward bunks, I would make sure they are lower than the hull will sit and then snug them up to the hull after hauling the boat

    Holding Tank Level Reset

There is no top mounted sensor. That model uses three separate ' sensors' on the side of the tank each connected to a wire that eventually ends up at the display/control panel. I am not sure how to troubleshoot but I would check the connectors for the wires. I suppose the tank might be coated...
