    Bleaching panels?

If paint or gel coat you can't bleach, that wont do anything. I suspect that whoever did your panels didn't do a good of matching matching. Was the color of the lids before the repairs correct? If it were me and I specified I wanted the color matched and I paid a decent price for the work I...

Has anyone replaced the copper steering lines?

When it leaks, you need to replace it. For now, don't worry and don't clean off the coloring.

Thats a lot of added weight. In addition, I would not take a F350 of that year if it were offered to me free.( just my opinion)

    Fire Extinguishers

I always check my signal devices such as flares for expiration dates but if I read the news latest, the Coast Guard has modified the fire extinguisher regs for recreation boats. If I read them correctly, your fire extinguishers must not be more than 12 years old. That sounds like a long time...

    Insurance Recommendation Needed

Think of all the storms, flooding and tornados etc. in the last several years. All those events cost the insurers a lot of money and they adjust rates accordingly. I expect rates to continue to increase due to many factors including the substantial increase in new, less experience recreation...

    Spring Commissioning

Have you ever changed the lower unit oil? What about water pump? If you haven't and you don't know when those items were last serviced, you should have that done. Same goes for spark plugs and gas filter. Other than the lower unit oil, the other items don't necessarily have to be done annually...

    Holding Tank Level Reset

Does your display normally change colors depending on the tank level? If so, you may have a Jabsco MSD III model tank and that doesn't use the typical float sender. The control panel looks at 4 signals from sensors in the tank tat are mounted at different levels. If you have that type, your...

    Water from drain plug

If you use your anchor, when you retrieve it, the line is wet. Now you store it in the locker and that water has to go somewhere. It will drain into the mid forward. It may not be a lot of water but it will build up over time. The mid bilge on a lot of Grady's doesn't drain aft when the boat is...

    Holding Tank Level Reset

Assuming you can get to the tank, remove the connection for the sensor wire and see if the display changes. If so, the sensor is bad or just stuck. The sensor is replaceable but how depends on the model of the holding tank. Sometimes a stuck sensor can be unstuck but that can be a messy job...

Anchor Light for 2001 208 Adventure

I am not available to measure mine now but I have searched in the past f0r other posts. The assemble that SkunkBoat referenced is the right form factor and look but I think the OEM version is taller. The lamp has to be higher than the Bimini top. Although I was able to find taller models, they...

    controls need replacement

The trick to cramming things back in is ( maybe too late) to take a picture or make a sketch of what was in what space in the bushing before pulling out the cables:) Otherwise, just keep trying different arrangements. I had a case where I just cut some of the spacing nibs to make a bigger space...

    controls need replacement

Generally yes and sometimes the rigging tubes are packed. Pulling 4 at once may be tough. The drag line that is pulled when you pull out the old cables should also be pulled back when you pull new cables so that there is always a rope available for the next pull. When done leave a rope in place...

    Gas Cap Lock

You make a good point. I know a lot of boaters who never lock their cabins because a determined thief will do a lot of damage to break in and they will break in if desperate enough.

    Ox66 missing a gasket?

I should have mentioned the high temp requirement for the sealant. Over time that separator gets hard and takes on the impression of the mating surface under the ventilation plate. When it gets like that, it may not seal as well as when new, hence the suggestion to dab a little high temp :) sealant.

    Ox66 missing a gasket?

That rubber separator is a critical part. It is probably attached with adhesive and does not have to be routinely replaced. You may want to apply some marine sealant ( or RTV) to the top surface when you re-attach the lower unit The rubber separator blocks exhaust gases and exhaust water from...
