    LED spreader lights recommendations

I was finally able to find the link to the LED swap I used for my dome lights and has worked perfectly. Easy swap and has been reliable so far. https://store.marinebeam.com/red-white- ... me-15-rww/ Just pick the base you need and it fits in the dome easily.

    Livewell pump for a 272

That makes more sense now. Per the specs on a 32 gallon livewell, the 800 fill rate is a perfect fit. Agree 500 is too low, especially on hot days.

    Livewell pump for a 272

Wow, that is huge for a livewell. Assume that is Inside Diameter right?

    Livewell pump for a 272

The hose from the pump and to the tank it 3/4". If you have 1-1/8" hose to the baitwell, that is huge! The only place I have seen hose that size is bilge pump out of boat.

    Livewell pump for a 272

I would have thought the 272 is same setup as 252. If it is, I have the Shurflo Baitmaster and replaced it a few years ago. Link: http://shurflo.com/marine-products/live ... r-ii/149-- It was a direct replacement. However, just this year, I have replaced it with a Shurflo 800 gph Piranha...

Are Scupper Drains Supposed to be Above the Water Line?

Mine have always been just under the water and never have any issues. Even with 2 fat guys in the corner, no water comes up in the cockpit, likely the flappers help with that. I have the 200 HPDI 2 strokes, so it appears this model, this is pretty normal. I did replace the plastic thru hulls...

    Grady Drive Drain Plug?

I have gone through working to reseal and got major improvements. Trying to find the leak was the hard part. As mentioned above in conversation, I think the last weak link was the top was resealed with the GE Silicone we use for the floor seams which is bathroom tub and tile caulk. That was not...

Confusing Leak in Cabin of '95 Sailfish 272

Hi Jonah, actually it is quite simple. Under the bottom edge of the aluminum framework, if you can position yourself such that you can look underneath, you will see some slots that are cut into the frame. These are drain slots. You might also be able to feel underneath and find them as well...

Confusing Leak in Cabin of '95 Sailfish 272

Just some feedback to the forum for others benefits.... Last weekend, I remove the starboard side rub rail and mostly all screws were pretty tight. A couple were a bit loose and 3 of them heads stripped off trying to remove them, so had to drill heads off and use the vise grips to pull out...

Best option to buy gelcoat in larger quantity?

I have purchased all my Gelcoat from Grady dealer and color is matching perfectly. They ask for the VIN of the boat and year to ensure it is matching as best as possible. They also don't charge an arm/leg for it from my experience, I guess that can depend upon the dealer. I have gone through...

    windlass failure

I just had to replace my Lewmar 700FF after 5 years and found the issue was internal corrosion and electrolysis had totally eaten up the mounts for the motor inside as well as eat at all the gears/metal parts. Culprit was apparently saltwater had gotten inside and was not escaping. Not sure how...

    Bilge pump pad wet

I cut out my pads also. Black and nasty smell. Cleaned up good and cut a piece of PVC board instead of wood or Starboard and it came out great. I glassed over it with Epoxy and the PVC board holds screws well and epoxy bonds to it very well also. So far, I think it has been the best material to...

    252 Sailfish Cockpit Light

I just put the LED replacement bulbs in mine and they are great so far. There is a post on here somewhere about which one's. 1 click they are red, 2 clicks they are white.

    racor spin-on fuel filters

If worried about clogging up sooner, then change fuel stations. The clear bowl also will help to show debris in the bottom which can help as a gauge to how bad the fuel station is about changing their filters. I find after 100 hours, that there is some of the brown debris in the bottom of the...

    racor spin-on fuel filters

It is highly recommended to change the 2 microns every 75 to 90 hours . I've been changing mine at about 100 hours with no problem so far. The clear bowl does get very tight. There was a run of bad plastic fuel bowls I had heard. After I spin off the fuel filter with the bowl on it I take it...

    Grady Drive Drain Plug?

My bracket was made by Springfield so maybe a bit different than yours. Agree with Dennis. I am going to be using 3M 4000UV this time around instead of the GE Silicone caulk where the UV will hit. For the area under the swim platform that will not see sun, I am going to be using the Sudbury...

    Grady Drive Drain Plug?

If you have plastic one's, they likely are just PVC threaded plugs. I forget the size, but it might be 3/4". Cheap enough to pick up one and try it out. If fits, good to go or get a 1" in case. I tried the PVC plugs but didn't like them as I have to remove them every few trips to drain out the...

    racor spin-on fuel filters

Yes, 2 microns are S3220SUL. Not sure the thread size. Fit same as the previous Yamaha 10 micron filters. I have replaced the VST filters a couple of times so far and both times, the screens had zero corrosion or white stuff a lot of folks are experiencing. My success I have to believe has...

Confusing Leak in Cabin of '95 Sailfish 272

Jonah, I think from time to time you can find a screw loosening up under the rubrails as the boats flex over time working hard in the heavy seas. I have had 3 different boat brands and all 3 had this happen but very infrequently. Not sure why some screws backout but had one backing out on the...
