    Lost Trim Plane this week

Update, well I have to say that WM and Bennett came through once the confusion was settled in how to order the tabs. WM picked up the 1 day shipping (Very Gracious if you ask me! They didn't have to do that) and called me yesterday as soon as they came in. I was very skeptical if the order...

    Windlass- Need Help

I took notice today when working with the anchor and if I hold the chain once Windlass is free fall, I can feel what seems to be like flat spots as the roller begins to move. I think what is happening is that the black rubber roller might be developing these flat spots when the anchor is...

    Lost Trim Plane this week

Jonah, looks like Bennett has some anodes just for their tabs. Not sure which part for which tab, but makes best sense in how these mount: http://www.boatzincs.com/bennett-trim-t ... e-kit.html

Lewmar Delta Anchor - HOLDS TOO WELL!

Len, that is very interesting and maybe the issue. I don't recall the size of the ball, but think it is standard what we get off the shelf in the WM store. Didn't know they had different sizes. If the 12", says it can float up to 38#'s. Well, that doesn't work for me and pretty sure it is not...

    Anchor rode snapped

Interesting how easy the 8 plait will abrade. I had a smart guy this past week determine that to help him anchor up and get to the beach, he through out the forward anchor and let his boat drift onto my anchor line so his boat could hold position while he pulled his beach anchor out and...

    Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement Help

I know your feeling on the heat/humidity! Thinking of some way to run a fluid IV while working on the boat here in NC!

    Windlass- Need Help

I always have this same issue. I wrapped some lead strips around the round bar between the spades and that seemed to help. I get it to drop on it's own about 25% of the time now. It is very aggravating to say the least! I have tried everything I can think of. Rollers are nice and round. Greased...

    Lost Trim Plane this week

I know tabman and have an old post with him on the replacements back when I first found these with electrolysis damage. However, I don't think he is around anymore on THT. His section for Bennett is gone and I recall something happened with his health, but could not find anything on it lately. I...

265 express owners check this out!

Looked easy to me! LOL. I have actually been through much worse! But, trying it on purpose is not a smart thing! Water looks very angry in the video!

Lewmar Delta Anchor - HOLDS TOO WELL!

Wow, just found this post. Not in my wildest dreams would expect these thick anchors to bend up like that ! Reason for posting is I just started to get back into bottom fishing offshore. I have a Delta 14# anchor and about 25' of chain. Seems this weekend, anchored in 110' of water, the anchor...

    Lost Trim Plane this week

Update. I contacted WM and they were waiting on me to approve the order. I went ahead and approved and order is submitted. Hope to get new trim plane's and new shear pins in about a week or two. Fingers crossed. The shear pins seem/look like they are now SS and not the Plastic. Maybe will have...

    Lost Trim Plane this week

Anyone ever lost their trim plane before? Seems one of mine has come free and sheared the pin from the hydraulic ram. I called Bennett and they gave me the part number to replace the same one that was made apparently for Grady which has the upfins. They are 18X9 size. Bennett will not help...

    Grady Drive Drain Plug?

Just an update from my final decision. Instead of the check valve, I decided to run the silicone hose across the bracket, under the platform and through the clamshell that the transducer cables run into the inside of the boat. I ran the hose up very high and looped it and tied it off. Thinking...

    Grady Drive Drain Plug?

Thanks Dennis for the feedback. I have installed the valve and just so you are aware, these things last forever on the aquarium side of use, so think they are pretty well made and suited for the task at hand. Otherwise, I would try something different. Anyhow, I think that this is a good...

    Birds in the Cabin?

So far, I have solutioned no animal intrusions into the boat using a simple radio. I keep it in the cabin playing just loud enough to barely hear it when on the outside of the boat. I was having cats and possums coming into the boat, not sure if birds were trying before, but so far now over...

    Grady Drive Drain Plug?

Hi Dennis, so the issue so far is that the caulk has not yet fully cured. That section was where I started and got it on a bit heavier than I wanted, so once it is fully cured, this stuff is very tough and hard to remove. This is the top of bracket that is next to the transom. It has no bolts...

    Grady Drive Drain Plug?

I think I have an idea. Being a fish tank nut, I can use a air pump one way valve. This is the valve you put inline to an airstone, so if there is a power outage, the water can't siphon back into the air pump. These are very tiny one way valves with a silicone type flapper. I can drill a...

    Grady Drive Drain Plug?

Who would have thought? Seems I have fixed the leaking now with the new evidence of pressuring inside the bracket just from the temperature moving from 66 degrees to over 80 today. I had put in the new access hatches and sealed them, and then installed the aluminum drain plugs today, then I...

    Grady Drive Drain Plug?

I would highly recommend opening it up. 1st time I opened mine it must have drained over 50 gallons of water. It never showed any signs of leaking while on the trailer.

    LED spreader lights recommendations

Actually, I don't recall. I think they have velcro or sticker. I also think they were tight. Believe me, mine have taken a beating for a couple years or more now and no issues so far! Seems to be a really good product.
