Ring Free or not on new engines?

If Yamaha says to use ring free, use it. I agree that it can't hurt. I would use exactly what Yamaha recommends a for engine oil, lu oil and gas treatments..

Used Grady White Shopping- 24 ' range Recommendations and Insight

I agree that the Gulfstream is in a class by itself. I also agree that twins are more appropriate but many have single engines. That said, a single 300 is a good match. 250 may be a tad underpowered in rough seas. I would go for the 'newest' model year and a 4 stroke over a 2 stroke hands down...

    1991 Offshore

I would be surprised if the nylon slide rail bushing weren't also shot. Finding those is a whole other story. If the slide bushings are shot, the seat will have a lot of wiggle mostly side to side. What I am trying poorly to explain is that if the slides are worn, new post bushings probably...

    New -275 freedom ownee

The grill has two options, one is powered from shore power and the other is an inverter that converts DC to AC. I don't know if you have both .I would imagine the shore power option is standard if you have the grill. I am not sure if the inverter option is standard or optional:) Here is a link...

    Yamaha f225 knocking sound

I am not so sure I would run that motor without the LU attached depending on how you cooled it.

    Yamaha f225 knocking sound

You mentioned that you tested with the lu off the noise is gone. Did you run the motor without the lu attached? The bushing you mentioned is not all that easy to replace either and also when it is bad, the motor tends to squeal not knock.

    Craigslist Trailer

It's been listed for a while. The model number would help since the folks who are willing to spend $8k, have a pretty good idea of what they are looking for. I don't at first glance see as a bargain.

    WTB 268 Islander table post/arm/support....

Whether you have the vertical deck mounted type of the side attached style, there are new models that may work with your table with a little modification. Same goes for the base, you probably will need to swap it out with a new one. Here is something I just looked up un eBay. There are several...

    Sailfish scupper hoses

Adding the trim tab pocket vent is a fairly common fix for the aft end sucking down hard into the water when heavier 4 strokes were installed on originally 2 stroke boats. I am not sure if the vents were at some point in time the factory standard. I am also not so sure if they are installed on...

    New props

Somewhere along the way, I missed the fact that the props were serviced. So that explains the vibration. With regard to the hard shifting, I asked because that might the metal in the LU oil. In one scenario, there is a problem in the LU itself but I am not convinced yet. The second is that...

    New props

Some fine metal filings are not abnormal. Chunks on the other hand are a bad sign:) Since the port LU is probably a counter rotation , as i mentioned, it has more drag and that may explain some filings. When you last changed its oil, did you see any filings? How does the port motor shift lever...

    Yamaha f225 knocking sound

Pull spark plug wires, one at a time and restart. You want to see if the noise is noticeably less when a specific cylinder is disabled. If it is, there may be a bad con rod bearing, wrist pin or piston slap. I can't tell from the video; does the motor have a significant knoch feel if you hold...

    Steering line question

The type of fittings depends on the steering pump. There are different varieties and in some cases adaptors are needed to connect new lines to older systems. So first step if possible is to determine the hydraulic steering make and model.

    Gas tank

Whether you keep 2 gallons, 20 gallons or whatever in the 'other' tank, the best practice to to occasionally use and refresh tat gas to keep it fresh. Another good idea is to keep the second tank full enough to get you home should for whatever reason the primary tank's gas becomes unusable (...

    Recommendations for ICOM Hand Held

ICom, Uniden, Standard Horizon They are all decent products but it isn't so easy to recommend one brand over the other. That is because each brand and model have plusses and minuses. You really need to research the features that reviewers like and dislike and hopefully, pick a model based on...

    Vinyl for windows

So we are looking at a front window? Based on what I see there appears to be some rotten material in that right lower corner. I suppose that at some time in the past, the metal frame and plastic inserts may have been a single drop in fixture. In that corner I think I see a screw that at held two...

    Recommendations for ICOM Hand Held

I am no sure what you are asking. Are you asking about a specific model that you didn't seem to mention:) Are you also asking about suitability in a plane? If so, I would ask on one of the aviation sites

    New props

You should measure the run out of the prop shaft as well as the play. That will eliminate a bent shaft and a worn bearing. The difference in drag between the motors doesn't mean much if anything. There is often more drag in a CCW gearbox. Of course if there is a very large difference that's a...

Take a look at this option as an example. https://www.easternmarine.com/moeller-55-gal-below-deck-fuel-tank-032555-1 There are other capacities. The under deck models have the 90 degree inlet fitting.
