    272 Bow Cleats

You can see in my windlass install post, where I added 2 cleats to the edge of the bow deck with aluminum backing plates. They were bedded with 4200 and secured with nylon nuts. You don't have to tighten so much as to crush the deck. They are plenty strong for most all anchoring or mooring...

transom mount trandsducer cable on a 232 gulfstream

Run around swim platform flange, secure with cable holders, then use D-shell to run through transom just under platform, as high as it will go. Fill with 4200. In the last pic, you can see the D-Shell location. Sorry, didn't have a better pic of this detail.

    Dome Light -272 Sailfish

The 40amp breaker near the battery switches is the power feed from the switch to the helm. If you have any power forward, it would not be the breaker. There is a power wire that feeds through the hardtop pipes up to the underside of the hardtop, then comes into the back side of the fuse block...

    Dome Light -272 Sailfish

In my 252, in the overhead radio box is a fuse for this light. It was a snap in fuse that had lots of age/corrosion. I was having intermittent issues with radio's and lights over time. So this year, I have replaced the fuse panel with the Blue Seas systems to remedy this issue. My guess is you...

    Mildew Stain

I had a bout with Mold throughout the hull in last couple of years. I did a lot of searching and found that Moldstat Plus is the only thing so far that has worked for me. Sure, the bleach and Zep and all the other stuff works in appearance, but the mold kept returning over time, especially...

    Bilge System Modifications

It would be nice to have a easily removable shelf for sure, but each boat has a different layout and bilge area. I would not be able to utilize a removable shelf easily. Each time I need to replace or repair anything in the bilge, it requires removing the floor panel, breaking the caulking seal...

    Bilge System Modifications

Your Welcome! I also meant to say that the far left hose/thru hull is the new output, the one in the middle is the primary pump output. It is never recommended to tie them together as they will compete and severely cut back the throughput volume and defeat the purpose of having 2 pumps. If I...

Hi Fishbust, the install was not complete in this photo for the wiring. You can see that the pump wiring is just laying there and not connected yet. All is nice and neat now. I could not find my latest photo at time of this post. In regards to facing aft, they were that way before and kept...

Yeah, if going to extent to remove motors and bracket, sandblast and recoat properly is the way to go. Mine just has a few spots that are bubbled up and easy enough to touch up. Make sure they seal it correctly once re-installed so you don't get water in the bracket, but make sure they don't...

    Bilge System Modifications

I used PVC board and 5200 to hull bottom to mount aux. 2000gph pump. Placed the float switch above on shelf which was a few inches above primary float switch and pump. So far, no issues with this setup. The PVC is not going to rot or soak up water. The 5200 will hold it for life. I mounted a...

Welcome aboard and Congrats John! The bracket is aluminum and likely was manufactured by Springfield. The coating should be an Epoxy type paint. Very tough stuff! I had done some touch ups to mine where it was bubbling under the surface. I used the Interlux 2000E system if I recall. You can...
