    Rub Rail 265 Express

I found 333 reducer with white rags works best, then followed by a couple coats of mop_n_glo. I do this a couple times per year and they look new.

which walk around with a full v-berth and stand up head?

Consider the older series of 25 or 27's as well. Somewhere in the early to late 90's with the SeaV2 Hull and full transom. Lots of cockpit room to fish and move about, cabin is nice and deep. Easy to trailer at around 10K for my rig and pull with V10 gas Excusion no issue. Been extremely happy...

Yamaha Fuel Managment - how accurate

Mine has nearly always been right on the money! We burned 104.5 gallons last weekend and I tried to round it off and paid for 105 gallons and it was all we could do to sqeeze that 1/2 gallon between both tanks. I run our 52 gal. aux. down to near 48 to 50 gallons and keep mental note of that...

does anyone know what this is

Reminds me of a Yoyo pulley mounted on a bracket. Does it have a spool capability where line can feed around it in the middle where it has the groove? Otherwise, clueless.

    Grady White Fuel Tank

I have heard of this for diesel fuel before. Seems their filtration system from the pumps to the tank don't always get changed timely and fail to filter out the junk. Dunno, but that is what it sounds like from others over time. For my previous boat and this one with 2 tanks, I have pulled the...

    Grady White Fuel Tank

In regards to the 10 micron vs 2 microns. 10 micron is rated at 90 gph flow. 2 micron is rated at 60 gph flow. I think the Yamaha engines from 200 to 250 hp use about 19-24gph max at wide open throttle. Being that we don't run wide open, the actual flow is much less. So, the rule most...

The tail of "2" corroded motors

Last I saw on this was any of the F225/F250's up through 2006 model year are affected. Somewhere in 2006 late I think it got fixed, but not sure how to tell. 2007 and later should be ok. Heard some F200's can have the issue as well.

The tail of "2" corroded motors

Good work and you really saved a lot of $$ doing this yourself. Not sure I would want to try and tackle it,even though I have done a lot so far, more that I thought I would. This fall, will tackle replacement of VST filters, low pressure fuel pumps, etc since I just went over 500 hours...

2 Issues with my 225 Tournament

If the discoloration on the tach glass is faded, I assume it is of the plastic type. One thing you can try is the same polish you would use for gelcoat. Buff Magic would work or flitz with the ball. If that does not work, you can try the Wipe New. I just used it on my truck and it is amazing...

Motor Cover - Simple and Cheap Solution

Not bad at all! I had found that a universal 115 hp outboard motor cover for about $20 would fit over my Radar radome when I was travelling to help protect from the tree branches. It works, but when it wears out, I might try this one instead for a lot less price!

    Grady White Fuel Tank

It is cheaper to replace the Racor 2 Microns than to replace the Yamaha $70 filter that is under the cowl. Also, it is cheap insurance for the HPDI's that demand no contamination in the fuel lines. I don't see why it would hurt to use even on the 4 strokes to minimize wear to the injectors or...

1990 232 Gulfstream Livewell Bottom Drain

I will admit it was a little bit of a stretch, but my arms are pretty large and I was able to work with it. Hardest part was removal of the hose and then the 90 degree elbow was bottomed out so not a lot of wiggle room. I could not have one are in the livewell and one in the hole at the same...

1990 232 Gulfstream Livewell Bottom Drain

If Gulfstream is like my 252 model, you should have a access panel facing rear and to the left of your livewell. I accessed mine last year and replaced the drain fitting. I replaced the access panel with a speaker and they work great here.

    Draining the Drive bracket

I resealed mine this past winter with 4200 at the access plates as the normal silicone was breaking free from the starboard access covers. Since, I have been on several all day fishing trips and just removed the plugs this week and only a few drops came out which I might access as condensation...

    Anchor Swivel issues

Jim, you gave me an idea on doing some research on this anchor swivel issue. I found some very interesting stuff on it. Lots of folks advise against using an anchor swivel at all. Stating never having issues with chain twist most of the time and even then, no issue to remedy just spin the...

    Anchor Swivel issues

Understand, but still don't see an issue with the swivel as it is attached now. As long as a swivel is inline, it should help remove any twist and that it is doing so far. I really have not had a twist issue so far. Last time offshore, I let out about 400' of line and retreived it and pushed the...

    Anchor Swivel issues

Hi Jim, unfortunately the larger swivel will not fit through the narrow roller. I don't see any reason the swivel will not do it's job here. Also, when I had the swivel directly on the anchor shank, it was bending out and over time, would have simply broken off. There was too much side stress on...

Help! Mounting radar on hardtop - Sailfish

Looks very nice indeed! If I had that on mine, I would have ripped the light off by now with the tree limbs. Even last weekend pulling boat back home from coast for a couple of weeks to do some upgrades, I had several tree limbs in the boat and wrapped around hardtop and that is with flush...

Help! Mounting radar on hardtop - Sailfish

True fishbust. For this grady model, the hardtop is sloped from center forward and to sides. I found the tilt was perfect with flush mount and the attitude the boat runs with. For the broadband, I can see a few feet forward of the bow, anything on the surface of the water. I think Dave will be...
