    Maserator Pump

Here is the link to the other post with lots of good detail and pics to explain it in case you reconsider. I did remove my pump from within the tank. Why? Well, it was driving me crazy to see it and what it was as well as get space if it was easy enough to remove. I did take it out and plug up...

Silicone Sealer Question ( cleaning? )

X3 on the GE silicone II Almond. Have been using it now for several years and it his doing great. Color is perfect. Easy to use and flows nicely. Better than most other caulks I have used. Tape up, caulk, smooth out and remove tape. Done.

    Maserator Pump

Best lube is Vegetable Oil. Seriously. It is what WM sells for more than $10 per bottle. Consider replacing the in the tank pump with external pump. I just did the conversion. You can find the posts on this site about how to do it. That is in case you have problems with the pump down the road...

    Forward Bilge Fuse Location

I found fuses to all my bilge pumps, fore and aft just exiting out of the battery selector switches. The fuse is about a foot or two on the brown wire if I recall. When I picked up my boat, both fuses were blown, so I replaced them and new float switches and all has been good. You might have a...

Slime in water tank blocks filter

I remember asking about this before and never got a clear answer. I did find some information eventually in one of the boating magazines and searched for it again. Here is what I found: From Boat US Site: http://www.boatus.com/magazine/2012/apr ... ystems.asp DRINKING WATER PURITY (2, 6) when...

    Replacing Brakes on My Trailer

Agree on the older versions of Tie downs. They were a knightmare with lots of negative posts that were likely deserved. However, the new G5 system resolves all that and have been performing very well. As well as the kodiak's. I had problems with my Kodiak's so figured would try the new...

    Replacing Brakes on My Trailer

As usual, Dennis nailed it! :D My .02cents....I have the G5's and they are doing very well so far. Very happy with them. 2 years now and they still look good. My trailer when I got it 3 years ago was a 2004 model. I don't recall having a lot of trouble removing the bolts, but soaking them...

    Fuel Level Question...

You should not have any issue with regular fuel. However, it is not usually an issue with E10 as long as you use Startron and if Yamaha engine or equivalent, the Yamaha Ring Free additive together. I have been using E10 for many years now and no issue following the above method. Never any...

Problem installing new fuel fill line in Grady 208

I know this has to be very frustrating to resolve. Keep going and one of these ideas will get you through it! I recall the help from these forums instructed me to use a piece of PVC pipe inserted into end of old and new hose t adjoin them together. Used short screws through the hose into the...

    Sailfish: 1 bilge or 2?

On my 252G, the front bilge is connected, but seems you have to put quite a bit of lift when on the trailer to get it to flow to the back. I think there might be a PVC tube in there that restricts the flow somewhat. I have flushed several times with a pressure water hose to make sure it was...

Trim Tab Control - where to mount?

Thanks Bigfoot. Found a pic best I could. Hard to tell sizing here, but behind wheel in pic on helm, and if nothing behind in the way, seems it might be possible in these 2 spots highlighted?

    House Battery install 255 Sailfish

Not sure which model you have or year. If you have same as mine, when I first got my boat it had 2 Group 24's on Port side and were mounted with ends of batteries facing fore and aft. After some studying of the area, I found I could extend the shelf they are sitting on over the bilge area some...

Trim Tab Control - where to mount?

Would be good to see a pic. I love the location of mine. It is very handy and easily in reach. Not sure if you have room, but seems it would be possible to put next to wheel:

    flexiable conduit for running wires

That PVC pipe is what I used to run all my wires from back to front. Drag a small diameter rope with the snake first time so you can always have something to pull other wires through. I did a yellow nylon rope and a second piece used to chase and replace if I drag more wire through. I have done...

Deck drain hose & thru hull replacement

Yikes, that pic says it all....That looks way tougher than I imagined! Almost wonder if one would approach this from the top in the walk through door area in order to get halfway between the transom and the scuppers. But let's hope someone can show their expertise here or you can get some...

Deck drain hose & thru hull replacement

Agree and understand. Just thought posting some pics might help some of us recall seeing one like this and provide further assistance. Just give them a call. The Email does not always work and sometimes they told me it does not get through. I have had this same issue with many of the internet...

    Need Advice on Trailer Brakes.

Just to add .02cents to this one, and this is a largely debated subject...don't believe me check this out on THT, but a few years ago, Tied Down came out with the new G5 brake system. Largely, Tie Down was getting hell from everyone on crap brakes, but they reengineered and came out with this...
