    2000 Sailfish 272 Livewell Lid

Post a couple pics - that way more people will know what you're talking about and can help.

    Cuddy Carpet

What, you don't like the monkey fur? :) When you say "dimensions"... are you asking for the dimensions of all of the different "pieces" that will be needed? No such thing exists. Measure what you have, add them together, to get a rough idea. Then you "cut and paste" as you go. The ONLY...

Update: Leak in Head Discharge Line. West Marine Recommends Replacement with More Flexible Line

Yup, you got it, Wahoo. The main reason is to (possibly) prevent flooding your boat. In other systems, like a Vacuflush (which uses a miniscule amount of onboard, fresh water to flush), the vented loop isn't needed.

    High Pitched Alarm Marlin 280

If it's coming from the cabin, the CO is a likely candidate. The "station wagon" effect (depending on what type of curtains you have setup) can explain why the alarm sounds and why it goes away. Open your forward deck hatch - that will allow air into the cabin and negate this. If the alarm...

Update: Leak in Head Discharge Line. West Marine Recommends Replacement with More Flexible Line

OK, thanks for the clarification on that! I don't know your specific model, but in the end that doesn't matter too much. It's pretty much the same thing no matter what boat it is in. Assuming it's the style of vented loop apparatus I would imagine Grady uses... there are three possible leak...

Update: Leak in Head Discharge Line. West Marine Recommends Replacement with More Flexible Line

It's confusing, though, because I don't know if he's talking about two different things at the same time and I hate answering something based on a "guess" only to find out later that's not what was meant.

Update: Leak in Head Discharge Line. West Marine Recommends Replacement with More Flexible Line

I'm not following what you're saying. I don't get the correlation between flushing the head and the discharge hose. They are a part of two different systems.

    I/O conversion to outboard

Nice - I like the use of the "CAD" technology... ;) Couple quick thoughts - knee walls are nice - but from the pics, the glass looks lightweight. You'll want AT LEAST 1 layer of 1708 there. Here's some info you'll probably find info - these are pics of my boat during restoration. The...

https://lmgtfy.app/?q=vlp+vinyl+repair Clear. Local marine stores may have it, too.

2001 282 outboards motor shaft length question

Well, if I can be a little sarcastic for a bit, but in a fun way... I already answered that :) What happens when the drive sticks down lower in the water? You create more drag. If you're only ever going to go 5 mph, it'd be relatively inconsequential - but still worse. The effect gets worse...

2001 282 outboards motor shaft length question

Well, I don't know how my experience compares to yours, but I've only been boating my whole life and worked in the industry for over 30 years ;) It's not hard to figure out the "why" without ever doing it - just like I've never added 234 plus 366... but I know that I can do it. It's drag and...

    Horn replacement

I'd like to have a freighter horn in my truck... on a separate button... for those SPECIAL times... Like the person still sitting at the traffic light after it turns green because they're staring at their phone!

2001 282 outboards motor shaft length question

Well, I think what I'm trying to ask is WHY would you want to us a different length that WON'T be as good as the 25"?

2001 282 outboards motor shaft length question

What is the reasoning behind why you would want to do this? You'll have negative performance issues.

    Horn replacement

Robert, just a little side note... I understand why you are saying what you are - they just don't "sound right" to us at the helm. However, the tone of these electric horns has actually been specifically designed to carry further on the water so that other boaters can hear it better than the...

1990 seafarer, needs new rear cup holders and pole light

Measure the hole size and either stop by your local marine store or check places like Jamestown online... or just google. It should be easy enough. For the light, it depends on the socket you have and there's really no way for us to know what you have since it's over 30 years old. Same as...

    GW Fuel tanks

From the factory, it would be aluminum. But unless you bought the boat new, there's no way to be sure as it could be stainless or something else.

    Long Term Refrigerator Use

Harry, just like a fridge at home, it can run year round if you so choose. Family, fridges (the dorm sized ones) actually draw very little power once "down" to temp. The more food you keep in it, the less power it draws, too, since whenever you open it (try to limit that), you lose the cold...
