    Seacock Viv pn

That's an internal part number - a Grady White part number. This isn't like parts for cars. Are the seacocks actually bad? They typically outlast the boat. BUT... base your decision on what to buy based on the size of hose that is used.

    Launching with wet tires

Looking at the picture in your first post, Mike, I wouldn't change the drop or rise of the ball mount. Your trailer frame looks to be quite level - which helps your brakes work properly and equalize the distribution of weight between the two axles. How far into the water are the tires going...

Any Ideas What These Wires Are For.

Actually, I don't think you're going to be able to get a positive ID from us. Pretty much none of those wiring connectors match each other - which means some previous owner has had his way with the wiring... and quite a bit, too. And that means all we would be doing in guessing. You have to...

    Leaking Waste Tank

I can't help with the location - I know the systems of boats quite well, but not the ins and outs of every boat out there and where things are located. You're in a better position than me to find it. It's not like it's a tiny thing - just start poking around and opening things up. It sounds...

    Leaking Waste Tank

What type of system do you have? That should be easy enough to diagnose based on your second post. What's loose? Do you have a carbon filter? Look at the fittings/hoses - inlet. fill, vent, pump out... the only other thing is a crack in the tank.

    I/O conversion to outboard

You can see my signature... The boat is in the water and I'm not sure if I have any good pics of that area - but as I mentioned, look to commercially available brackets for ideas.

    I/O conversion to outboard

I'm not sure if you'll find anyone that built their own bracket - or at least I haven't seen anyone talking about that. But, if you're building your own... why does it matter what someone else did? Make it the way YOU want it, you know? To get a rough idea of length, just compare to brackets...

    Trailer for new Freedom 235

Something to consider - or at least know about - with minimal use like that, the brakes will either require lot's of attention to keep them working so they don't freeze up on you... or... if you're going a short distance on back roads... just remove them and replace the coupler with a...

Front anchor eyelet problem on 226 Seafarer

That'll work. And, if you do need to lift the boat sometime, the bow eye is MORE than sufficient for that. You can bed the stainless in something like 4200 or 5200 to take up any small irregularities.

    Marlin head vent filter

What type of head system do you have? Do you have a Vaccuflush? If Grady chose to use a filter with a Vaccuflush system, it would usually be right on top of the tank.

    Trim Tabs

Just getting a set of electrics doesn't mean it's going to be any more reliable in the long run. Generally speaking, though, Bennett hyrdraulic tabs are one of the most reliable things on a boat. As noted above, it'd be better to figure out why they're not working and just fix them.

Local Grady White Dealer will not work on my Outboard

For me, I wouldn't take a chance when there are known-good avenues for a quality refurbishing. While I've never used him, I've heard plenty of good things about Fuel Injector man on a number of forums. When I bought this Grady, one of the first things I did was have the injectors refub'd...

Front anchor eyelet problem on 226 Seafarer

Not sure, exactly. Maybe 3/16" or 1/4" - and then whatever width the original was. 2", maybe 2-1/2"? Do you still have your original one? Just copy it.

    through holes

Yes, but a more efficient way, still, is to have a helper. The helper, being less knowledgeable, should be the one with the hose. The other person should put their ear over the various drains to listen for water. Also, take some video of this so as to help others in the future.

    through holes

Is it the fishbox drain? Dude, just pour some water in places that have drains and see what makes water come out the hole! :)

Prop suggestion 87 offshore 08 etec 250 ho

You're getting ahead of yourself here. You might be perfectly fine with the one of the props you already have. Be patient, wait till you get it to the proper height. I have to say, I'm surprised that the height, alone, makes THAT much of a difference to cause it to overheat. In theory, I...

Prop suggestion 87 offshore 08 etec 250 ho

When you took that picture of the anti ventilation plate (not cavitation, by the way), what kind of speed were you doing? What about speeds with both props in comparison to when/where the overheat happened/didn't happen? Why would an engine being DEEPER in the water cause overheating? I also...

    Thru hull replacement... seafarer

I wouldn't dilly dally searching around on the net. I'd just give them a call and ask for a part number or where to buy. Find out about replacement flappers while you're at it. Yeah, SS should be cheaper than bronze - but bronze will outlast SS... and the boat, probably. I would be hesitant...

1999 228G Seafarer with Hardtop Total Weight Question

Just my opinion of course, but I wouldn't look to another trailer, Don. Upgrading tires is EXACTLY what trailer manufacturers do to increase load capcity. It's not cheating or skimping - you'd be doing it the right way. Your trailer must have at least 3,500lb axles - giving you 7K gross...
