Ignition re wiring and motor just clicks

I'm sorry, I read through this three times and I still don't understand what you are saying. Please proofread and fix/re-post so it's coherent.

    Salt water in fwd bilge

Ah, OK - now I understand about the bilge pumps. Thanks for the clarification. Just sitting in the water? In that case, it's obviously not the rubrail. The only options are any seacocks, transducers, etc. Unless there's some unnoticed damage. Are you 100% positive that it's seawater and...

    Salt water in fwd bilge

Just for clarification... this statement makes it sound like you're getting salt water in there while just sitting in the water. But you're only getting it while underway, right?

    What do you call the...

Which ones on Amazon did you try? I just looked on TH's website and they're about $10 - $15 for a pair.

    Salt water in fwd bilge

'Course this is just guessing, but it could be coming in under the rubrail. The deck fits over the hull like a shoebox lid. There should be plenty of adhesive goop inbetween the joint, but maybe it's not as "full" of goop as it should be. Use a hose and start spraying spots to see if you can...

    trim tab issue

Please fix this - not sure what you mean. You ARE allowed to proofread what you write before clicking submit ;) But, generally speaking, the fuse can blow/pop for a few reasons that you'll need to check into. -- Trying to put one side up and the other down at the same time -- Corroded...

1988 Seafarer 226 fuel tank access

So there isn't a large (5' long, give or take) screwed-down hatch over the tank? For now, you can just install another access plate over the pickup tube. Yeah, skip the seasonal cleaning thing. Not that it's bad, of course, just really isn't necessary. I use the Racor brand clear bowl - but...

    Location of 1 Amp fuse - CO2 detector (330)

Maybe you should be looking for the CO wiring instead of the CO2 wiring ;) Typically a fuse will be near the power source... but maybe it's behind the monitor? In other boats, it's sometimes connected to a fuse panel behind a dash or sometimes on a breaker panel.

    fresh water pump

Are you sure you're not confusing it with a RAW water washdown pump? Usually a fresh water pump is mounted close to the tank. A raw water pump draws from whatever water you're sitting in... if the seacock is open, of course.

    fresh water pump

What led you to believe the old one was bad in the first place? Did you verify: -- The sprayer is not blocked up by removing the aerator or nozzle? -- The inline filter is not blocked up (cleanable)? -- The pickup tube in the tank (if it comes from the top) isn't cracked? -- Does water squirt...

    Water in Fuel

OK, this info is different than what was originally thought. Originally, it seemed like it would run, but just run rough. See post #15 (and/or what the other guys are saying, as well). These are both easy and quick to do - next step could be to run on a portable tank. Possibly a fuel...

    Step / Deck

Easy/cheap... PVC stock (possibly molding) from HD... cut it to the shape you want... clean the area... use some adhesive caulk like 3M4200 (really, though, anything will work here... but don't use 5200). Done.

    2008 33 express -electric panel

I guess we should never ASSUME that a boat owner knows the difference (or how to check!) between raw water and fresh water... ;) But... if you checked every switch as you said you did to make sure they're off, how was the washdown switch still on?

    Water in Fuel

Forgot to ask earlier... when this issue happens, what's the fuel level in the engine-mounted F/W separator look like? Is the level at the normal spot? All fuel in there or some water? Could also drain the VST and check.

    Water in Fuel

Hookup... I'm not stating the possibility of water leaking in through holes in the top IS the reason - simply that, factually, it's a possibility... among the other possibilities that exist. Just trying to give the guy as much info as possible to figure things out.

    Water in Fuel

His tank(s) aren't leaking fuel out... it's possible they're letting water in. In that case, it can absolutely happen via the top of the tank. Koby, have you been storing the boat with minimal fuel in it? If so, that's generally not recommended with Al tanks since it can allow condensation to...

Transom bang plate / cap material?

I'm sure the 5200 will keep it in place - as would 4200. My parents bought a 3' piece of vinyl bang cap for $15 from a Grady dealer so I could install it for them.

    Water in Fuel

With the size tanks you mention, I would suspect they're Al... is that correct? If so, see what I wrote above and inspect. If this is the case, the problem will only get worse. Remove and repair/replace tanks. Do you only use one tank?

    Water in Fuel

The mechanic... drew the water directly out of the fuel tank? Was the boat positioned properly to allow maximum drainage? Or was it just from the VST tank on the engine (assuming whatever engine you have has one). What year is the boat? The tank could have pinhole leaks in it if it is an...
