Adventure 208 with a tuna tower!

Just wondering, how much do you think that setup weighs (not including the existing hardtop). Maybe 25 or 30 pounds?

    Extend hard top.228 seafarer

Congratulations on the new boat and welcome aboard! As far as the coverage goes, plain and simple, keep in mind that you are buying a boat where a decent priority is put to fishing. A second bimini (a single bimini is not big enough to cover the entire cockpit) would get in the way of fishing...

    Extend hard top.228 seafarer

:) Yeah, I wasn't sure what "I love in the up. Sometimes it snows in July here!!!" meant? Actually, I should take back what I said about not having your cake. A camper canvas setup DOES provide that functionality - both sun and rain protection.

Actually, we had a good converstion going in your other thread about this and a couple of us were helping you there. Should we start all over? Seems like a waste of a lot of typing and our time :) So... you never answered the question... did you actually buy the boat? Or is this still just...

    Rub rail caps...

Give your dealer "one" try - or call another dealer - they can always ship it. I've heard good things about Taylor Marine Center in Delaware - and I did deal with them once about 5 years getting a small part for my '82 Offshore and they were very helpful. But if you strike out again, then...

    Electronics Plug Identification Needed

Sorry, what I meant by "that makes sense" is that it is most likely something to do with the fuel system(not necessarily the flow meter) - pink is the standard wire color for a fuel level sender. What engine do you have?

    Electronics Plug Identification Needed

Yup - that makes sense. See the black/pink that are shorted together? That probably would have been for a second engine.

I've had good experiences with contacting Grady, too. But keep in mind that they are not "Google" - they are real, live people with other requests ahead of them, along with their regular workload... and lives that they go home to at 5:00 :) Try looking at Taco Marine's website - whether they...

    Electronics Plug Identification Needed

I'm not positive, but it looks like a gauge wire harness. What does the white tag say? Maybe the boat was re-powered with a different engine where that harness is no longer used? But... what doesn't work on the boat? If all is good, don't worry about it - it was either something that was...

    When it goes wrong!

'Course this is all a bit conjecture, but I don't think there was water in the boat. The wave spacing was very short - when he came over the first wave and backed off, the wave immediately lifted his stern which, according to Netwon's 3rd law :), consequently lowered the bow and the wave in...

    Gulfstream swim platform access

The setup in my Offshore is very similar. I step from the swim platform, over the transom and onto a seat and then the floor. Sometimes I step onto the transom, first. I can't say I've ever once thought it to be a problem. If agility is becomming an issue or you're carrying something...

    When it goes wrong!

Ideally, ride the back of the first wave all the way in (the one that ended up pushing his stern). He backed off power and may have had the trim down as Hoon mentioned. If you're gonna skip from wave to wave, got keep things trimmed up - and keep the power on to keep the bow up. I think...

    Seafarer 22 purchase

It can be done as nice as your pocket book allows! Google for something like "boat camper canvas pictures" to get some ideas. What you're asking/wanting is pretty straight forward, actually.

    Seafarer 22 purchase

OK, that's a bimini top you have there. There's some things you can do, like adding a rear bimini (but have to deal with the legs) or even just a makeshift sunshade. But before we dive too far into that, let's wait till you actually get the boat - at this point it's just "theory"!

    Seafarer 22 purchase

Speed isn't going to be dramatically different. Comparing 4-stroke OB to I/O in terms of fuel consumption, though, the OB would get the nod - a bit better cruising speed, too. But it's still a boat - it's not like it's going to be a night and day difference. I'm primarily a stern drive guy...

    Seafarer 22 purchase

By "inboard", do you mean a stern drive? Or, was this some kind of specially made version with an inboard? Generally speaking, a stern drive will be a little more stable due to the lower center of gravity, but more HP is needed to do the same thing as an OB because of the weight difference...

Grady White 265 Express - Bennett trim tab replacement

Yup, short bursts and then "wait a second or two" are how to use tabs. If you hold the tabs down till the boat starts to react, you've already held them down too long. And then you'll overcorrect the other way... and then the other way... then you'll curse a little and say how stupid these...

    Fresh Water Engine Flush

Best answer! :) I'll add... the more you use the engine, the less issues there seem to be from salt. Seems as though "sitting around" does the most damage. Kinda like a couch potato... Going along with the bilge pump being dropped into water... supposedly (they "claim" it does) Salt...
