    2017 Marlin?

My two cents... I fished on a friends 330 for years with the Helm Master set-up. My 330 has no Helm Master but a Bow Thruster. I personally prefer the Bow Thruster. On a windy day, I can move my boat sideways easily (Bow Thruster + the leeward engine in reverse). I think nothing replaces...

    Roughest Seas You’ve Endured - Seafarer 228?

Well said Mustang... In my case, I do my boating 100% in the Ocean off San Francisco. No protection at all. So upgrading to my 330 made perfect sense. In your case, that 228 is likely all you will ever need. It's the best 22 footer ever made in my opinion.

    Roughest Seas You’ve Endured - Seafarer 228?

I've said it before and will say it again. The only boat better than a Grady-White, is a BIGGER Grady-White! I went from a 228 to a 265 to a 330. No regrets at all.

    New Helm Seat 330 Express

Question to Sibs, Did your new seat fit onto your existing pedastal (i.e. Post) ? And do you recall the name or model # of your purchase. I'm interested in doing the same as you. I too have the pompanette platinum seat on my 2006 330. Thanks, Jack

    Roughest Seas You’ve Endured - Seafarer 228?

Years ago, I know of a 228 Owner who "almost" endured some big ass swells off Half Moon Bay, California. It was Crab Season (this time of year) and I recall the swells were in the 12-15 foot range. The boat was entering our Harbor and rolled turtle with these large swells parallel to the boat...

What are your Top 3 favorite boat mods or additions you've made?

    1. Fore and aft High Water Alarms - because it could save my life. 2. AIS Transponder - because it could save my life. 3. Converted a large Fish Box into a Pressurized Live Well - because it keeps bait and other fish happy in the roughest conditions. Think of bait stored in two, one...

Boat envy, thinking about a new Marlin 300, have questions.

No problem to wet slip any boat. It's simply about maintenance and up keep. Good paint will last a minimum of two seasons, often three. Having a Diver scrub 3-4X per year is normal. The Diver can inspect and change Zincs as need be. After wet slipping - you'll learn to hate and never ever...

Maybe your Anchor light up top?

    Adding a

Your white fenders look a bit small to me and the orange ball is too big and unnecessary in my opinion. I'd upsize your white fenders and consider a 3rd. Hanging a third from the rail post is no problem since it doesn't take much of a load. Most of all - if you get good at launching and...

    Water in middle

Yes of course! It's coming from the nut. Now that makes perfect sense...

    Off shore safety

All of the above are excellent inputs to consider. Here are my two added points of emphasis: I suggest you install at least one High Water Alarm in your bilge. Think about it - if you are taking on water for any reason, how will you know? Your automatic bilge pump will be working (hopefully)...

    330 F250s Top End, RPMs

I'm the exact same as you. 2006 330 with F250's (2,400 hours now). You, like me, will probably achieve 5,700 RPM's WOT if the boat is light and in calm water. Perhaps the only difference besides weight and sea condition to the 2007 330 is props. I cruise at 4,300 to 4,400 RPM's doing 22-24...

    Under gunnel speakers for 330

The area under the gunnels is perpetually wet and dirty on most 330's. For me, I prefer top quality speakers above the helm on the sides of the cabinets (up there where most 330's have speakers) matched to a powerful Amplifier. The sound coming out of my system will physically hurt you if...

Looking for some info on an express 330

They are good boats but like any boat of that age, you need to really inspect them. The F300 wasn't even out when my boat was built (2006) so if you want the 300's, you'll be looking for one that was repowered. We have had our 330 for 11 years. The twin F250's easily cruise the boat at 22-23...

Help educate mechanically challenged kicker buyer

I recommend you get a bigger and much better security lock. That new Yamaha could easily disappear soon and end up on Craig's List somewhere South of Maine. Today's cordless saws can go through your cable in a few seconds. The better locks are the ones that can't be cut - like the ones that...

    Fischer panda problem

"I have 2 fuel fittings/lines coming out of the top of the tank. Both are square with threads coming out forming the 90s. Are these the check valves you are talking about. One has a shutoff and goes straight to a RACOR filter the other line disappears behind the tank." The fuel fitting on top...

What is this Buss for? Grady provides the answer

100 amp is a big one. My guess is it's for your bow thruster or generator. But I think your generator 100 amp fuse (not re-setable) is under that clear cover below the black breaker. Since that breaker is in the "off" position, something big must not be working (?).

Transom Rebuild - The Saga Begins

Congratulations. You made the right decision to have the job done. Now you can sleep better at night not thinking about this and start enjoying your boating season. Well done. Put all of this behind you now brother!

    Rinse fuel tank compartment?

Dennis, The wax plug can be fully removed. I make it stick on the outside of the drain tube and I didn't jam it in there (at least not very far). Regardless, you can fully remove the wax down there if you remove the caulked in deck panel (for better access). I still kinda agree with leaving...

    Holding tank keeps filling

If the holding tank discharge seacock is left open, there's a good chance water will enter the holding tank when you're running at planning speed. Just like when your livewell fills up when the seacock for it is left open. Just my two cents...
