    Yamaha F250 vs. Honda BF250?

Since you asked, I recommend the 4.2 Liter Yamaha all the way. This is not a Ford Vs. Chevy thing. All outboards everywhere are compared to Yamaha. If you have a Honda, or a Mercury, or a Suzuki, I'm sure you're happy with it. No disrespect expressed.

    Battery Question 2008 330 Express

You installed heavier batteries + removed the generator. That'll do it... I'd try to stow gear to STBD if possible. Or maybe move a pair of your 31's to the area where the generator was. That should not be too hard to do and you will have easier access to both pairs of batteries when done...

    Battery Question 2008 330 Express

Understood and thank you Bill for the detailed response. The more I think about it, the current set up is best. One can simply turn the battery switches to change the source of power (or charging) as needed. And getting size 31's in there would be better than the 27's. On the newer 330's...

    Battery Question 2008 330 Express

Bill, On a 330, I didn't know you can "fit" Group 31's in that battery space. I have the standard Group 27's and they are a tight fit. Curious how you did it. Also - on the 330's, Grady wired the port engine to two batteries in parallel. And the STBD engine + House circuit to another two...

    2002 330 Express Bow Thruster.

does the rear berth headlining need to come down to access the location of the emergency stop button? I do not think so. I think the cable goes low port to SB through a rigging tube down there, then vertical up to the SB side of the helm area (down low by your feet) near the water heater.

    2002 330 Express Bow Thruster.

Look at your boat's schematics as to the rigging tubes. Mine is on page 8-30 (2006 model). From the battery box, the 0000 Red cable goes to a 300 amp fuse holder. Then the 0000 Red goes up the port side rigging tube to mid ship and it goes to the starboard side and then forward. Along the...

Can jump gen starter, but not start with control panel

As Bill mentioned above - have you replaced the starter relay? You should always have a few spares on the boat as these tend to fail after awhile. Can get them on Amazon. If you don't have spares, I think the below is the one you want...

    330 Express vs 360 express

A buddy of mine has the same boat and ordered new Yam 300s. I’ll be curious on the performance difference between the two. >>> Take it from me (I just re-powered from F250's to F300's on my 2006 330) - I'm running...

    330 Express vs 360 express

I'm into my 12th year owning my 330 (year 2006). We love the thing to death. Lot's to read (on this site) about engines. I re-powered from twin F250's to F300's. Yes, better with the 300's but I personally had no gripes about the venerable 3.3L F250's. I also would stay clear from the F350's...

    GW 330 Express Recommendations

Remember, when Grady-White introduced the 330 Express, they installed them with F225's. The F225 3.3L V6 was the LARGEST outboard Yamaha made at the time. It was a revolutionary "Grand Slam" kind of a boat with rave reviews all around. Later, they sold them with F250's. Again, the largest...

    GW 330 Express Recommendations

I just repowered my 2006 330 after 2,500 reliable hours on a pair of F250's. I now have F300's. Is a 330 underpowered with F250's? No. Is a 330 better with F300's? Yes. In my use case scenario, I value my Bow Thruster and generator very much. I'd never own a large Grady without both of...

    Fischer panda problem

Good job Doberman! That debris is almost unavoidable. It just seems to collect, grow, in the tank. I have a tight and well sealed fuel cap and still see crap in my filter every 80 hours when I change oil. 7 minutes run time is about how long the FP will run from small amount of fuel in the...

300 Marlin - Gen or not to Gen?

Good point on the resale value. Totally agree. I love my Fischer Panda (2006 with 850 hours). While the FP is certainly not perfect, if you understand their weaknesses and have spare parts they should deliver 2,000 hours of use. Out of necessity, I sort of have become a FP Mechanic (lol). I...

Mooring Tricks To Keep The Gulls Away

For years, what has worked well for me is to put a sand bag "spider" on the hood of each Yamaha. I recently had one get blown off in the the wind so now I put down a small piece of that non skid (waffle looking) shelf liner stuff under the sand bag base. For the hard top - I simply use 20#...

Express 330 rigging tubes to helm

When this job begins, all access panels on the starboard side will need to removed. This includes, the full starboard side of the lower aft bunk, the rectangular box shaped panel hanging from the ceiling area in the aft bunk, the AC/DC switch panel, the forward Yamaha gauge panel at the helm...

    What Props for a 330 with F300's?

Reading the above, I think I might try the props I currently run on my 3.3L F250’s. They are PowerTech Offshore 4 blade props that are 15.25” diameter in 16 pitch. These props work well on my F250’s. I think they will work well on the F300’s. ?

    What Props for a 330 with F300's?

I will be doing a repower this Summer on my 2006 330 Express. Wondering if anyone has some real world experience on their propeller selection on a 330 with twin Yamaha 300's. I'm thinking Yamaha's Salt Water Series in a 17 pitch, 3 blade, is a good place to start. Curious what others think in...
