    Suzuki DF200AP maintenance tips

Low pressure fuel filter (filter itself not pictured) is simple task. You need an o-ring as well as a filter. I have not had to tackle the small filter internal to the Fuel Vapor Seperator/High pressure pump. That will require a gasket too. I have had a Yamaha VST apart. It was not that...

    Suzuki DF200AP maintenance tips

Engine anodes should be inspected and change when necessary. I have spare o-ring for inspecting one. If one needs changing, they all do...don't waste time inspecting them all. I had a problem with one that the screw holding the anode to the anode cover stripped the hex head. Have a spare screw...

    Suzuki DF200AP maintenance tips

I have been doing my own maintenance for 700 hours. Here are some tips. I get OEM zuke parts from Boats.net They have exploded view diagrams and "reasonable" prices. Order all your stuff at the same time for free shipping. I usually sit at the computer in February with my box of parts and...

flat bolts used to connect hinge to plexiglass

You might find them as "T Nuts" non-pronged They are hard to find the exact replacement. DON"T LOSE WHAT YOU HAVE! When I removed my plexi door to install a flat panel dash, I saved them...somewhere....

    268 Islander Fuel Tank Replacement

In theory, your boat is tilted bow high and has drained out. Its not a water pipe full of water. No water to expand when it freezes to crack it. You plug the fwd to aft pipe? You rely on the fwd bilge pump to clear the bow? I don't like that... I have no plugs. Any water drains aft on plane...

    268 Islander Fuel Tank Replacement

Hey Hookup, I guess I missed this whole thread. Nice job. I think if you go offshore you'll be glad you have the second tank. 134gls it a little tight for canyons. If I remember though, you usually have a bigger ride for that stuff. Sucks that you had to cut. At least you are already halfway...

    268 Islander Fuel Tank Replacement

I know I'm late to this conversation but... my long ago experience with glass over aluminum is not great. 16' aluminum Sylvan. Thoroghly sanded and used glass to patch an area of tranducer holes. Eventually salt wter finds its way underneath, the aluminum oxidizes into white powder and the...

    Another Fuel Tank Thread

Its interesting that you had foam. My old 84 V20 had foam. A lot of the Gradys doing tanks on here don't have foam in the tank space. My 265 does not have foamed tanks. Tanks were replaced 6 months before I bought it. Does bilge pass under the tank thru a pvc pipe? or a false floor? Its the...

    Another Fuel Tank Thread

Those are my local guys! They did a tank for my old V20. they use thicker aluminum and more baffles. That does reduce the volume of the tank a little because they keep the OUTSIDE dimensions. They beef up the Sender hole too. They also recently repaired my Grady 265 Hardtop frame.

    Not sure what happened

"I was unable to power 2 loads at the same time. " elaborate on this. Does that mean it wasn't dim when only one was on? Your radio works using the same 10 gauge +12v and ground as the lights? You ran +12v direct and a ground from Battery to lights and still had problem? Maybe not ground...

    Not sure what happened

"Radio seems to work fine, with the exception that when I key the mic it goes to the local noaa weather station. " I wouldn't call that "fine" since you can't transmit on a weather channel. You changed things and now it don't work. Start by isolating things. Connect them one at a time to the...

Repower for our 2001 Express 275

heheh you are correct...Its right there in my manual. I must be repeating a mistake I think I heard once. Usually I check my facts before posting so as to not get embarrassed. Dammit.... and I thought the hull change happened in 2003 but dbratts says 2002. Maybe its another case of mid year...

Repower for our 2001 Express 275

Looking up Yamaha on Boat.net parts lookup. Seems that the first F200 was a 2002 model. Likely manufacture in 2001. They have all gotten away from "model years". The "model" number used to have a date code letter. They don't do that anymore(2005 was last year for date code) They just have a...

Repower for our 2001 Express 275

I'm pretty sure the Yamaha and Zuke 250 4 strokes are heavier than your 2 stroke 200s (OX66 or HPDI?). Mercs are lighter.

Repower for our 2001 Express 275

There are quite a few 265 repower threads going. DIAD is putting Zuke 250s on right now. Many of us have put on zuke DF200APs and they are a great fit for the boat. With 4 blabe props plenty of umph. 1.5+mpg day in/day out. Max out low 40mph. Anything over 40mph in a 265 is not comfortable...

    Insurance

I had Progressive for a while thru USAA. I needed to upgrade when I moved up to the 265 Express. I seem to remember there was an issue with upping the agreed value when I put new motors on it. Or maybe it was their definition of coastal was "not greater than 60 miles".. I need to go past 100...
