If you do a google search for rigging outriggers, many videos will come up that are helpful, you can watch them many times over to really learn how it's done. I just purchased Taco riggers and watched the video to make sure I did it correctly. Fishing with them is a no brainer, it's basically a...
The 226 is just fine for us over here on the East Coast (Jupiter), we enjoy the versatility of the Seafarer. We venture out to fish off shore, then come in and anchor up in the river and chill and grill. The cabin storage is very handy along with the porta potti for the gals, we also have had to...
Finally got all the parts needed to install my new Taco retractable outriggers, should help make it easier to catch the big ones. I really like how they collapse to a size that perfectly stores in the cabin rod holders, and I was not a fan of the fixed length aluminum ones that came with the...
My 87 226 has never had bottom paint, in and out storage and trailer use mostly. When buying a used boat, bottom paint can hide previous damage and repairs, I liked that I could see what I was dealing with on a 30 year old boat.
Yes, ditching the old fixed aluminum units that came with the boat. I can run multiple lines on these, then retract them and not have to deal with 15 footers when not in use.
I know the OX66 is a work horse and many are still in use, only down side would be economy, from what I have read they are very thirsty compared to the more modern 4 strokes..
I carry the usual stuff, fuses, spare bilge pump, flex tape, wire and connectors. But since my outboards are 30 years old, I have spare ignition module, voltage regulator, solenoid, coil, and spark plugs too.
Most likely would have to remove the bracket to have it welded properly, too bad you didn't get the tag number of the car she got out of, maybe the car owner is a welder. :p
No complaints with this old school 226 with twin transom mounted 140's. Very stable and rides pretty good. Rated for 280 max HP and that's what she has, she's a bit of a hot rod. :)
They were off a 27 GW that the owner wanted to switch to a leaning post in their place. I purchased them for 325.00 including pedestals with foot rests, and protective seat covers. Pedestals will be put up for sale since they are to tall and will not fit. Feeling lucky considering the prices I...
My truck is 2wd, but I did install a locking posi rearend in it. It has no problem pulling it out of the water even on a wet ramp, the Nitto's have good grip I guess.
