    Used '16 F300 will my '99 ox66 controls work?

I believe the xca designation means digital controls. You’ll need an all new Yamaha Command Link Plus digital control system.

    Battery Question 2008 330 Express

The port battery switch does not (cannot) provide power to the house bus. Either battery bank (#1 or #2) can provide power to the house through the starboard switch. Don't confuse battery banks with battery switches. The windlass is powered by the port switch thru a separate breaker. Check...

    Yam 150 / Grady 180 - Engine temperature

My F250s did exactly that for 1000 hours. The gauge is not linear and if you are concerned, either buy the YDIS software and cable (about $50) and read actual temps, or hook up to a MFD via NMEA2K and read actual temps, or use a laser thermometer on the housing. I believe you'll find the temps...

    Yamaha timing belt advice needed

If it is running fine, just keep it the way it is! As long as you don't move either cam shafts relative to the flywheel, all is good!

    Fuel guage

Your speed/fuel gauge is blank. Does it test when first powered up? It should show dashes even if it is getting no signals. Download the manual to see how it works and what the buttons do. Could be setting of 0 contrast, but more likely no power to the gauge. It can be set to show time battery...

    ProMariner died 300 Marlin

Since you really have four batteries, the engineers recommend a four bank charger. Apparently the smart chargers can tell the difference between a bank of two batteries and a separate battery. There is more to it than current and voltage. I went to a four bank charger for two banks of parallel...

    Freedom 325 Electronics Setup

I have two 1243xsv on my 330. One thru hull 1KW and the GT56 transom mount. I use one MFD for navigating to my waypoints and the second MFD as a bottom machine. I looked at the 86xxs, but decided on 1243xsv. The GT56 has really nice side scan. I too fish GOM. 1243s are more economical and they...

No power at fuse panel - Freedom 235

You need to get the electrical schematic . Do you have a bow thruster? When you say disconnected, do you mean jumpered across, keeping the circuit complete? If so I would get a temporary in line fuse or breaker installed as a temporary safety feature. The 40A button is normally for all of the...

How shallow can GW 235 freedom go

I think everyone is trying to portray a degree of accuracy that doesn’t exist. Too many variables. If we’re talking trolling motor then we can put the trolling motor slightly below the hull so that it will be the thing that hits first. Trying to determine draft within even a foot maybe...

    Short radar dome

Make it removable at the hard top level or consider lowering the boat on the trailer a bit if possible. The new Fantom radars have power and network plugs that are easy to unplug.

    Canyon 366 hull concerns

If the transom was repaired within 10 years, should have been under Grady warranty and done by Grady. I’d ask for documentation on the transom repair from Grady-White or if not from whoever did it. Agree with uncle Joe I’m guessing there may be have been some damage.

Transom drain tube replacement on 2006 265 Express

I used a hacksaw blade by hand to prevent going too deep into the wood. Used a flaring tool designed for the proper diameter tubing for the unflared end of the new tubing and I used 4200 so if I ever had to redo, I could.

    Compass location revisited.

The cyclical nature is the confusing part. If you are experiencing cyclical deviation with all power sources off on the boat, there must be something external to your boat in that area causing it. Could be nearby radar electrical wires etc. If it does not occur at sea, clear of all possible...

    33 Express Water Pressure

The new pump I installed has an internal bypass setting that allows for backflow into the inlet when the pressure is not needed. It helps stabilize the flow and the accumulator is not required. I removed my accumulator when I installed it. All seems to work fine.

    33 Express Water Pressure

See link on my previous post. Adjustable pressure. 55 psi stock They also have a 5GPM model. Worked excellent for me. Used for about a month thus far. No connection to manufacturers or seller.

    Crappy situation - update!

Almost all newer boats have fuel tank vents integrated into the fuel filler/cap.see my previous reply about your holding tank vent.

    33 Express Water Pressure

Just replaced the pump on my 2007 for same reason. Bought 4 GPM model. Works at 55psi and adjustable. No accumulator required. Easy job! Hot water had air trapped and was very weak. strong stream after several purge cycles. $147 great customer service from...

    Crappy situation - update!

What type head is it? Different designs very considerably. Domestic Vacuflush? If so, it needs a vent which is typically on the hull on the side where the holding tank is. If the vent is clogged and you try to vacuum it you can damage the check valves (duckbill). If it is like my 330, there is...

    Aluminum vs. stainless steel prop

I have a pair of Yamaha SS salt water series II used props from my F250s that I had to change out when repowering my 330. I really want to sell them as a pair. They are 17P. I will take $1K for the pair in excellent condition, but you might have trouble selling the left hand one. I wouldn’t...

GW 33 Express with Yamaha 425's & electrical problem warning

I’d say there is a high probability that the connections were not properly tightened either upon new battery installation or originally. On my 330, for those connections to be vibrated loose would do much more damage to other things in the boat. If your vibrations are really that significant...
