Grady 228 total length on a trailer.

That's good to know. I've been trying to research tires as well and that brand popped up on my radar.

Grady 228 total length on a trailer.

Thanks man. I may stay with the 14" and find these or comparable AL rims with D load rating.

Grady 228 total length on a trailer.

KY Grady...I may have asked this before...what is the wheel/tire package you have on your trailer? I am looking to upgrade (I have load C rated 14" tires and galvanized wheels). I like the aluminum look. Wish I had asked about 15" wheels when I ordered my trailer... What size/load range do...

    Seafarer Transom

You can do some searches on transom replacements. I did mine from the inside, which required cutting off the gunnels. Not a huge deal. I cut the stringers that tied into the transom and then rebuilt with coosa and 1708 to re-attach. My transom didn't have any flex either. I noticed some...

N.O.S 228 cooler seat lid (port side)

I have a 1984 model. Curious if there are lids still available for it and whether yes or no, are there seals or rubber bumpers that protect them from slamming on the box? Mine have nothing (fiberglass on fiberglass = rubbing).

    Shiny!

I have seen several methods and compounds work. My 1984 seafarer was really chalked out. I spent some time on her this winter with a pneumatic polisher (3") in detail areas and with my HD Milwaukee on the hull. I use the 3M products. I am happy with the results. Here is a link to the 3"...

    Kicker motors

I troll Erie and my Verado 300 idles down low enough. If windy and going with waves, I sometimes toss a bucket over on a rope and it works great. 1.5-1.6mph. Normally, I am bumping up my rpm to troll at the speed I want.

    Totalscan Thru hull

Travis at Semper Fi advised me as well. I was concerned about being on center with a single outboard. He calmed my fears and all worked out excellent! I bought my unit from him as well!

    Prop Saver

If I had opted to use a kicker, that would be a neat thing to try out. As it is, I can troll down to 1.6mph with my Verado. Very fortunate. Nice setup you have there!

Seafarer 22 under deck storage mod?

There is a bulk head that needs removed and relocated. Not a big deal. A couple minutes with a vibratory tool and it's out. I put in a layer of 1708 in both areas to stiffen everything up while I was at it. I used COOSA for the new bulk head. If you want any other pictures, let me know. I...

Seafarer 22 under deck storage mod?

I took that forward compartment and put my main fuel tank there. It helped redistribute weight away from the stern. I then made the rear area into the storage compartment. I took the hatch cover and split it, and then made it into the lid that latches down and has a full width ss hinge. I...

    Transducer Mounting

I mounted mine on centerline. Rear of transducer is ~11" from stern of the boat. I do have a bracket so my motor is back a ways....

    228G Bottom Paint Removal

Nice job! My boat was slipped and had bottom paint when I purchased. I sanded and repainted...but I do like the clean look without. Looking forward to final pictures and performance.

    Totalscan Thru hull

I have a 1984 Seafarer. The back edge of the transducer is 11" from the stern. It is located on centerline of the boat (raw water pickup is located off centerline). The back of the transducer is 48" away from the front of the outboard when it is down. This picture was taken right after...

    Totalscan Thru hull

I installed a Garmin GT51M thru hull on center of my boat. I have no issues with ventilation and no other performance issues with the transducer or the outboard. It's a pretty large transducer. I run a Verado 300 on a bracket off the stern. Hope you find a solution that works for you.

Keep 228 or move up to 282??

Ahhhh....our first world problems...right? :) I was just having this conversation with my wife as she said "so when are you going to get the itch for something bigger?" What can I say....she knows how it goes. I look around and the 282, 265, etc are some nice rigs. But, I always come back...

    Thru Hull Hose Replacement

Yeah...I had to make some access holes and then close them back in when I was done. I tried to do it without cutting but....wasn't happening.
