Water in Yamaha oil holding tank

A 2003 300 is an HPDI. Start your google and search. These motors were prone to all sorts of problems that would result in detonation of one or more cylinders that would toast the block. Are you sure that water in the oil is what caused it?

How low should a 228 sit in the water?

Not really an even comparison between Grady_Crazy (or me) 225s and a 228 Seafarer. The additional fiberglass and other construction materials for the cabin add more weight. The hardtop adds more weight. A 4 stroke adds more weight. The Aux fuel tank option adds more weight. Of all the GWs...

What's everybody doing on their Grady this weekend?

Let me know next time you are in town..... I didn't think the 6.2 in 2009 wasn't AFM but I could be wrong....

Should it trim this far down?

No reason to mess with it.....you can trim them all the way down (in) to get the stern up and get you on plane quicker. Once you are up you would trim them out anyway.

What's everybody doing on their Grady this weekend?

Rallied the troops and went to Lanier this afternoon...I typically try to avoid the holiday weekends. It was a good news/bad news kind of day....bad news was it rained (HARD)...but the good news was it (1) chased a number of folks off the lake and (2) made for some perfect glass for the kids to...

What's everybody doing on their Grady this weekend?

Were you towing the boat at the time? If so, need to look at damage to the trailer from the impact and everything moving forward...can bend the coupler and/or buckle the frame. Glad you guys are OK. I know you had a bad experience with AFM so I won't try to talk you out of another GM product...

Running transducer wiring on Seafarer 228

Your 07 has 2 PVC tubes installed in it. A plumbers snake is necessary to get through the pipe. I've had some go easy and some be a bear. Just depends on how much other stuff is already in there.

How many of youz guyz use your boat mainly in freshwater?

Re: How many of youz guyz gave your boat mainly in freshwate Lake Lanier, Lake Allatoona, Lake Oconee, Tennessee River....all regular launching points for us. We get 2-3 trips to FL in a year....I like you miss the old days when you could hit the St Johns on Saturday and trailer to the...

help with purchasing a 1999 GW adventure

As Doc said, location will dictate whether the price is high or not. One thing you need to check on a 208 is the bulkhead to the right side of the cockpit/cabin hatchway. GW used plywood with a "veneer" over it and I've seen more than one boat where water running down got past the veneer and...

GregB - drop me a PM with an email address. I think I have the spreadsheet from GW saved somewhere.

    Freedom 235

Buddy of mine has been going back and forth with a dealer in FL on a leftover 2015 225. They are hard by $90K which is - to me - absurd. The new 235 seems to remind me of a Pursuit 235DC, which is - if course - the old Century mold that Pursuit bought when Century shut down. I crawled around...

    Freedom 235

Anyone else get the email today about the new Freedom 235? Guess we couldn't escape the Euro Transom trend forever. Cockpit looks smaller to me, too. I wonder if the 225 stays on or is killed?

    Parthery, our boat's sister.

Mine is 506. Apparently was one of the last, if not the last, 225 to roll out of the factory before the 2001 model year changeover occurred. In 01 and 02 only the 223 was built. Did your trailer issue get resolved?

    2006 228 rear starboard cushion

Good news is they are still available from GW. Bad news is - be prepared for sticker shock.

GW Tournament 225 Livewell Seacock Location?

Not sure on yours where it is (on mine it's in the bilge and an extender is attached to it) but if you haven't already, download your owners manual from the GW website. It will tell you where it is exactly.

Re: New Member - Just Purchased An Adventure 208 When Smoky sings........ WOT is 5500 for that motor so you are right where you need to be RPM wise. But you should be 41-42 MPH. I'd get the bottom cleaned up. The extra drag is causing you to burn extra fuel.

I had the identical boat some years ago and loved it....congratulations. One question though...at 5300 RPM you should have been going faster than 32 knots based on the described load. We're you using a GPS for speed?
