I find it easier to use Flickr (or Photobucket) etc... and just copy the BBCode for your picture over....but to each his own

    Service

Labor is $110 here in Atlanta... Had some work done over in NC...one dealer charged $95...got a quote for some work this week and that dealer gets $120/hr. Not sure where you are but if you are in the NE, $130 is probably about right.

minimum hp for GW 19' tournament

Easy way to find out....put the boat in the water and find 60 lbs to set back there....could be another battery....a bag or two of mulch, or even the neighbors 10 year old.... I think you will be ok...remember, the oil tank is coming out.

    F-Tales/Dennis/Seasick/Parthery, etc...

MagicalBill...didn't realize you had moved to SW Florida...one of the boats I'm pursuing is in Naples...I'll be down next week for sea trial and inspection if we agree on a few minor details. The sellers have been reminding me everyday that it is 85 and sunny....the sun has finally broken...

    Plastic teak

GW recommends Penetrol and it works pretty well....available at your local Home Depot.

    F-Tales/Dennis/Seasick/Parthery, etc...

The problem exists primarily in 2002-2005 F200s and F225s....Yamaha changed the design in '05 and motors beyond that time frame essentially have the equivalent of the "kit" that is part of the retrofit/repair. The F250 didn't come along until 2004 anyway and had the redesign from day...

thoughts on trading a 180 sportsman for adventure

Welcome to the forum. Your newer 180 with four stroke power is worth more than his 208....a trade may work if he is throwing some cash in the deal. Otherwise, sell yours outright. I've owned both a 180 and a 208.....different animals altogether but great boats just the same...just be sure you...

    My Tenth Anniversary?

If you click on "members" (upper right side) it will list everyone, by day they joined. Bob - looks like you are member #6. I am member #17. Also looks like a number of folks in the early days have moved on...don't hear much from greyg8r, blizzard, MrPat, etc... Enough Already is still...

    Stereo, speakers in a 228

Stereo up in the hardtop....speakers next to your spotlights. That's how I did mine when I owned a 226.

    Yamaha F225 & F250

The problem motors are F225s... 2002-2004. Yamaha made the change in 2005. F250 were introduced after and did not have the issues.

    L E D Trailer Lights

None of them are real good.... Do you have guide posts on your trailer? If you do, have you considered moving the lights up top and out of the water? Do that and they will last forever.... These came from Walmart....mounted on $15 brackets from Eastern Marine.

what size fishfinder/plotter screen do folks like?

In the 7" range, anything with a split screen is going to be small. A couple of options though....2 5" screens (HDS-5) would set you back a bit over $700, but would be more useful. Other choice is to toggle back and forth between maps and FF. The HDS-7 can be bought for less than $700...

    Engine Repower

The maximum HP rating for a '99 Seafarer is 250 HP. The newer 4.2L F250 weighs 562 lbs. The older 3.3L F350 weighs over 600. A call to GW Customer Service should yield some advice as to whether or not your scuppers will end up under water.

    Garmin 741 with NMEA ?

You should be able to get the NMEA plug through the pipe...worst case scenario is you may have to disconnect something else and pull it out...then run it back through. Garmin 741 is a nice unit for the $$$.

    WOOD-LESS MARLIN

Every GW uses wood in the transom. Some models have wood stringers as well.
