    Trailer Brake Maintence

The offshoot from Kodiak was Deemaxx. If you look at the components they look very similar. My last 3 trailers have all had Deemaxx....they are just as good as Kodiak. My trailer manufacturer of choice (Owens and Sons) has switched to them exclusively as their warranty support is much better...

Your local NAPA has them cheaper. Part number is 60xx70. The xx is the length. 601670 is a 16 inch, 601870 is an 18 etc....

New GW owner and a few questions....

Welcome aboard.... The easiest way to post pics is to use photobucket or flickr and then copy the bbcode from each picture into your posting. As for the manuals, the Yamaha gauge manuals are included in the Yamaha Owners Manuals which can be viewed and - I think - downloaded from...

how often do you run WOT

I try to run mine up near 5500 for a couple minutes every trip out...not always feasible but if I can, I will. I find that stretching it's legs every now and then doesn't hurt.

    How far off is MSRP?

Floorplan is essentially interest on the loan that he used to buy the boat in the first place. Manufacturers work with financial institutions to manage the financial commitment the dealer has to make to carry inventory. GW may have some additional incentive money allocated to the dealer once...

wavetamer, do your homework....I could be wrong but someone else was looking at that boat and found out that it hadn't been started in 4 years...

    How far off is MSRP?

Could be any number of things... GW has already "released" their 2016s. Is the boat a 2015? Or a 2014? Sounds like a stripped down model? Was it ordered for a customer who never took delivery? What kind of power on the back? He's paying the floor plan...particularly if it's a model year...

    opinion on canvas color

The navy that GW uses from the factory is not captains navy...it's just plain Sunbrella Navy. Captain's navy is more purple-y in hue. Hold the two next to each other and the difference is noticeable.

    Shouldn't need any permits...the 228 isn't a wide load.

Flush mounting electronics on a seafarer

Strikezone, do you not have trouble with the plexiglass door falling down? My experience has been that one good bump causes it to fall down. Of course, if it's clear and you can see through it then its a non-issue. If its the black plexiglass, it's another story....

Recommended Canvas for Tournament 19 on mooring

I'll take some tomorrow....he basically cut around the front struts and Velcro flapped the rear ones so I can use the cover regardless of whether the bimini is up or down. My 225 also has a custom aft bimini and he did flaps around the mounting hardware there, as well.

    Adding Hardtop - Overnighter?

Call Chris Garrison at CG Marine (www.cgmarine.net) 678-546-4666 If anyone would know of someone in town who could do it, it would be him. I suspect you are going to have to haul it to the coast though. Additional weight is probably 400 lbs or so....plus some wind resistance....you will...

Recommended Canvas for Tournament 19 on mooring

Just had this setup made for my 225 Tournament...2 pieces (bow and cockpit). The bow covers are still readily available from Great Lakes Boat Tops....cockpit covers were never a factory option. I chose to have my local guy make both pieces as it was more cost effective. The results are pretty...

Would anyone be interested in having starboard work done?

Re: Would anyone be interested in having starboard work done As a follow up, Jason made a panel for my electronics box....I prefer having everything flush mounted as it's easier to read and the plexiglass door doesn't come crashing down every time you hit a wake. Sent him the measurements and...
