Replacement horn for a Seafarer 226

West Marine horns have a lifetime warranty (I think)...buy one...when it fails two years from now take it out and swap it. Reality is they don't live very long, particularly in salt water.

    Trim tab pump location

Your tabs are working properly. When you press the port "bow down" you are activating the starboard tab which pushes the port side down. The switch is controlling what the boat will do, not which tab is actually moving.

    XO-66 Yamaha 250 2 cycle?

Any number of things come to mind....Low pressure fuel pumps....VST dirty...etc... Max recommended RPM is 5500. Wonder if everything is running fine but you need less pitch (more prop) to get to 5500? Particularly if it happens under load....

New to me Grady 208 Adventure!!!! Couple ?'s

Don't get hung up on using Yamalube oil.....either Pennzoil XLF or Pennzoil Premium Plus work better, smoke less, and can be bought anywhere from Walmart to Amazon for half what a gallon of Yamalube runs. I don't go out of my way to buy non-ethanol fuel, so I am diligent about using a fuel...

Thoughts on bimini vs t-top for 17' whaler

I'd post on continuouswave.com and ask the whaler experts... The thought though, with a Whaler, is that stability might become an issue.

Bimini up or down at the Dock?

I leave mine up if I'm using the boat over the weekend. Put it away when leaving the boat unattended. A gust of wind can wreak havoc.

Recommended Canvas for Tournament 19 on mooring

Re: Recommended Canvas for Tournament 19 on moor GW never had a cockpit cover as a factory option....some boats of that genre may have had a camper canvas which would necessitate the snaps. I'd go custom....you will be much happier with the outcome.

UPDATE: prop advice 208 with sx150 yami

Re: Need prop advice 208 with sx150 yami If you were only turning 4800 with a 17" prop you need to drop down to a 15....either in aluminum or SS. I'd scour eBay and CL....plenty of gently used props available....someone bought one...it was the wrong pitch...etc....

New Side curtains- no snaps installed - how hard a job

The West Marine snap kit is garbage....either get the Sail Rite one or find a canvas guy. When I bought the 223 (last summer - before I sold it) I ordered a new set of cushions from GW. When they came in, the snaps were not installed. I found an auto upholstery shop and they put them on for...

    Gas Leak / Possible Vent?

The vent is part of the filler cap assembly. If you have obvious presence of fuel in the bilge, you have a leak. It's possible it's the tank, but it's doubtful if yours is a fresh water boat. More likely, ethanol has eaten through either a fuel fill hose, vent hose or fuel line leading to the...

    Fisherman console mods

Another option would be to remove the plexiglass door, have a custom panel made, and flush mount your electronics. Looks professional, makes them easier to read, and you rid yourself of the plexiglass door. A fellow Great Grady member (jbrinch88) makes these panels and his work his first rate...
