Offshore fuel tank issues? Low speed stalling

Check the low pressure fuel pumps and the VST tank. When was the last time the VST was serviced? LP pumps are not expensive or difficult to replace, if they are leaking.

    LEAKING LIVEWELL

The water is going to the bilge. It sounds like you may have blown the fitting loose....good news is the boat is under warranty. Time to schedule an appointment with the dealer.

New to my Grady... I've had it 4 days now.

Pretty sure you don't have one either....just found my PDF of the owners manual for my 226 and - if you had the livewell - you would have 3 thru hull fittings amidships port side -- one each for the two compartments and a third one for the overflow. The picture you posted only shows 2 thru-hulls.

Tips on buying a used 208

GW hasn't changed the 208 since about '98 (other than the dash, switch panels, and upholstery/stripes)....so things like windows, weatherstripping, etc... should be readily available. The tank in the 208 is polyethylene and not aluminum....and is not accessible without cutting into the floor...

Tips on buying a used 208

    How old? I owned a 208...it never had stress cracks....helped a friend buy a 208 a few months back....it didn't have stress cracks... Keep looking....there are plenty out there...get at least a 175 or preferably a 200....

    Sea Tales

Have you considered selling the motor and replacing it with another used 200 with a 25 inch shaft? Jack plates etc...will run some $$$...same money could be spent on the difference between selling yours and another one...

    water in bilge

It's likely getting in either through the anchor locker ...cupholders that drain to the bilge...or around the seats aft. Sometimes it's rain...sometimes its from washing the boat. If the water doesn't smell like fuel or saltwater, I'd say you are fine....

    Steering and engine tilt button

Do you have hydraulic steering or cable steering? If cable steering, then Seasick's comments are spot on. If it's hydraulic steering, you may just be low on fluid. However, you need to figure out where the fluid is going...it's not uncommon for the seals on the ram unit to wear out. The kit...

New to my Grady... I've had it 4 days now.

First - welcome aboard....I owned a 2001 226 with a 200 HPDI...was a great boat. The livewell, if your boat has one, will be the port side box...the box is split into two and the one on the right is a cooler. The one closest to the gunwale is the livewell. Look underneath in the stern (next...

Yamaha F 225 Dry Exhaust Corrosion Issue/ repower

FWIW the list price on a new F250XA is about $24K or so.....the fly by wire ones are a bit more. For $62K are they converting to DEC and installing new gauges and controls?

    150hp on a 20 foot Grady?

Welcome aboard.... I'd focus on one with a 200....that said, I've run one with a 175 and it did just fine. 150 is fine for cruising but it will be a 38-39 mph boat at wide open throttle.

    New to me OX66 225

Grady_Crazy, you need to update that signature  My 225 is only fickle on cold starts....it doesn't always want to kick in the fast idle mode so it tries to idle at 7-800 RPM while cold which makes it rather lumpy....it doesn't stall out...it's just not smooth. Once it's warm it starts...

Yamaha F 225 Dry Exhaust Corrosion Issue/ repower

Are your motors completely shot? Did you have a power head failure? They are worth some thing on trade and can be parted out....not sure where you are located but you can hang a pair of F250s on the boat for substantially less then you are being quoted....I think you need to keep shopping...

Last of my 208 Questions....HAH! who am I kiddin' !

A quick check of the '93 GW catalog shows even they were confused....boat is labeled an Adventure 20 and in one place that's what it says, then in another place it refers to it as the 208 Adventure. Is the gauge dead? They don't last forever....you can pick one up on eBay all day long and they...

1989 tournament gas tank, floor questions

I had an '86 190 Tournament and did a tank replacement on it. RDS (www.rdsaluminum.com) has the exact specs on file and can build you a replacement tank and UPS it to your door. We were able to remove and install the new one without any trimming...it wasn't easy but it fits like a glove once...
