    Experience with Express 330

Oops, Just re-read your post and saw that you wouldn't consider 250's on a 330. I would certainly opt for 300's. Haven't they had trouble with the 350's?

    Experience with Express 330

Seasick; Never owned one, but several in our club have them, all but one with 250's. Each boat with the 250's would cruise at 30-31 at 4800 RPM and get 1.1-1.2 MPG. That seems like a pretty hard life for an engine to spin close to 5000 RPM all day long. I would opt for the 300's, not for the...

    232 cuddy

Two people can sleep side-by-side without flipping the backrest up to the bunk bed configuration. Just put the filler cushion in place. My girlfriend and I are fine, and we overnite a lot in there. Just depends on the couple, I guess..I should mention we are not large people.

Cruise report from Georgetown to Little River Inlet

Doc is right and brings up an important point I forgot to mention about brakes and fresh water spraying. I had a flush kit installed on the trailer for my 232 with a hose hookup and I let it run for 10 minutes or so at the ramp. That hits the inside of the wheels, brakes, etc. Then I spray the...

Cruise report from Georgetown to Little River Inlet

I always seem to harp on this, probably because it was a real problem for me until I started overbuilding the trailers. From the use you described above, it has enough miles on it to wear out bearings. I am not surprised at all, as mine failed once a year 'till I had bigger axles installed. I...

Instead of snakes on plane- ants on a boat

Solution #2.. Terro. It's in a bottle and you put a little bit on a small square of cardboard. Place several squares of it with Terro in strategic spots in your cabin and on deck. The ants like it..they ingest it and take it back to their colony, eradicating them all. I had them in my 232...

    Maneuverability w/Outboard on Bracket

Hi Dennis; Also remember that a bracket puts the prop (your source of maneuverability) further aft away from the main hull. A transom mounted OB will be a little easier to work around a dock as the engine and prop are closer to the boat, making it more responsive to shifting and steering. It...

    Myrtle Beach-Georgetown Area

I don't fish, so I know nothing about it, but I do know that the ICW is way inland from Myrtle Beach and the closest entrances North or South to the Atlantic is pretty far away. Murrell's Inlet is a closed bay, but I think there is a launch ramp and trailer parking,( I haven't been there since...

new to grady boat family and love my first boat

Not in Southern Indiana. I spent most of my life in and around Indy and every now and then you'd see one passing thru. That is the land of bass boats and bowriders and pontoons.

Relocating my 228 - Deltaville to Northern VA

That looked like more fun than trailering.

1999 Voyager - raising engine results

I thought the same thing as Bayrat. My 232 Gulfstream porpoised a lot in 2013 and Grady customer service determined I had a bracket full of water which indeed was the case. We drained the water out..problem solved.

how to tow a tube with twin engines?

Run a line from one mooring eye, or lifting ring,(whatever you call them)to the other with enough slack so you can throw it over the top of the engines. This way you have a "bridle" of sorts and you can attach your tube line to it. This way, it is centered behind the engines for an even pull...

2003 228 Seafarer seems to ride low

Parthery is right. That rig should hit the North side of 40. Zimm..If the bracket was full of water it would porpoise on plane with all that weight aft.

    New Boat - 2014 232

I have a 232 with twin 200's. It is a great all-around boat and you'll be real happy with it's versatility. It's big enough to take reasonable seas accompanied by good judgment. It's small enough to horse around a dock by yourself. It can be trailered, but you need permits to be legal and...

    Control Mold/Mildew

I use exactly what HMBJack uses and it works perfectly. I was amazed at the moisture the Eva Dry pulls out of the air in the cabin. I empty the equivalent of a shot glass full of water every couple days. I have the plastic hose attached to the tank so it continually drains into my cabin sink...

07 Gulfstream Filler Cushions Optional or Standard Equipment

Re: 07 Gulfstream Filler Cushions Optional or Standard Equip I bought my '07 Gulfstream new and I'm almost certain all the cushions including the filler that your inquiring about came standard. I remember what I ordered as options on the boat and I'm pretty sure the cushions were standard...

Our trip to the Keys in our Marlin

You'll probably have lighter winds in Aug. I would certainly plan to be at at or near the island chain mid-day before the afternoon thunderstorms make up. Glad you had fun and I'm not surprised about the consistent winds that time of year. How much water did you have coming out of Coon Key...

    bahama run questions

So, are there channel markers in the Bahamas like the ICW or do you rely on reading the water colors with polarized sunglasses and follow your chartplotter?
