From what I understand their should be a lever inside that the key turns? It's not there. I can't seem to get pictures to upload.

I need to replace the connection for the ball valve handle and the rod that that fills my live well on my 228 any help on finding that part would be appreciated. I think I need a complete new rod.

So with vice grips I can turn it and the prop and it will go into gear It's in neutral the shaft will lift up about 1/4" then slides back down when I release it I'll put bottom end back on and see if it works

I pulled it back off?? I'll put it back and just put a couple bolts in and make sure it shifts. The gear in front off the housing doesn't want to turn with my hand is that normal?

I bought a rubber made garbage can but I have bend it in oval and it's questionable on the water covering the intake with all the splashing from the exhaust .

I guess I need to pull the bottom end off again, I jut checked again. When it it's gear the prop turns easy I can hear a little clicking in the lower unit. Kinda of like something is not quite making contact?? I'm not sure how I can put it back any differently?

So I got the boat back late yesterday from the upholstery shop. I put the bottom end with the new water pump kit back on the motor today but I don't want to run it in my driveway with the ears or in a barrel. So I'll run it up to the lake later this week. My question is when I put it in gear...
