    Which Seafarer to choose????

I'd go with number 3. First, you get the Sea-V2 hull. 2nd, the motor is either a Saltwater Carb'ed or an OX66 motor...and these motors are among the best that Yamaha ever made.

Sportsman 180 Speed and Handling Questions

I'd try to get my hands on both a 17M and 19M Yamaha Prop and run them both and see what you get. I don't know a lot about Powertech props, but your RPMS are definitely low. My 180 has a 150 Saltwater Series (2 stroke)....I've run a 180 with a 150 4 stroke and RPM at WOT was 5900. Top speed...

Sportsman 180 Speed and Handling Questions

    1. Sounds like your cables have some free play in them. When they are adjusted properly, everything should engage smoothly and be smooth throughout the entire range. 2-5. All related. First, it sounds like the motor is trimmed all the way down. Don't be afraid to trim it up slightly...

    Re-powering a 1998 180 GW

150 E-Tec is probably the most cost efficient...you can use your existing controls and harness.

    Prop for 228

Merc Mirage Plus 15.5 x 17....you will also need a hub kit (around $35 or so.) These props like to run near the surface...as a result you can trim them way out...its almost like an overdrive when it kicks in. On my 226, I picked up almost 3 mph.

    Yamaha Stalling

On the other hand...if one was to read the OP entire post, I would have noticed that its an OX66, not a carb'ed motor. My apologies to everyone who politely saw what I missed... :-| That said, I'd go back to the low pressure fuel pumps and start there.....they aren't particularly expensive to...

    Yamaha Stalling

Not all SWS motors are Fuel Injected (OX66)...I have a 98 150 SWS II that has carbs and it was doing the same thing. I think its a vapor lock type situation...I only had the problem in the dead of summer when the ambient temperature was close to 100 degrees. And when it did it, it was a...

What a boating season this is and f250 update

John....did you have to bring that up? Smoky says he's coming back next week again...so if he did, he can swim in it again.... We ought to look at some sort of GG get together in Strikezone's backyard....there are enough of us that aren't too far away....

    Vhf Antenna Problem?

It sounds like your antenna is bad. Still, you could invest $10 in the Centerpin crimp on connector, and try replacing the plug. Sometimes that is all it is. If that doesn't fix it, then you can spend $100 to replace the antenna. Good call to remove the AM/FM splitter...its been my...

    VHF Installation in Adventure 208

I had no trouble raising the bimini with the antenna where it was. I actually preferred to lower it forward, as it was out of the way. I could climb into the boat and not worry about breaking it. Post pics of the rig....we all love boat porn here

    Duratrim replacement on '94 228G

1/4" starboard. I've used Fin Addict Marine in the past....give them the measurements and how you want the holes cut, and they will take care of the rest. Very reasonable too. I'd go with black, as far as color is concerned.

    VHF Installation in Adventure 208

This was my 208....with the antenna mounted to the side of the walkaround....might help you out as you plan your installation. And I had no trouble with either my GPS or VHF being mounted next to each other....

    VHF Installation in Adventure 208

There should be extra or open terminals on the fuse block. Pick up the heat shrink spade connectors (male and female in the package together) at Wal Mart or an Auto Parts store. Strip the wire, crimp on the connector, use a heat gun or bic lighter to shrink the connection. If you bought the...

    VHF Installation in Adventure 208

I had a 208 and had a Std Horizon VHF and Lowrance Plotter in the box. My tips to you are: 1.) You may find it easier to remove the instrument panel and work "down" from the top to mount the radio. Access through the plexiglass door can be tough, depending on what else is in the box. 2.)...

    Flushmounting Electronics in a 205

Easy...call Brown at Fin-Addict Marine (http://www.finaddictmarine.com) and have him make you a 1/4" piece of starboard to the exact measurements of the flush area. Have him cut the hole for the new Garmin unit (you can email him the template off of Garmin's website.) When the panel arrives...

What a boating season this is and f250 update

If its a Yamaha warranty issue, I'd consider hauling it here to Atlanta, which is a closer ride than Columbia or Charleston. Bay Marine is less than 1 mile from Yamaha's US HQ, the parts guy used to work for in the HQ, one of the part owners of the dealership worked in HQ, etc... In short...

What a boating season this is and f250 update

Apparently this is the new world. Lockwood can still call themselves a dealer, and if you want a GW, they will order you one. But, someone else is carrying GW in Jacksonville now (MarineMax), and Lockwood has no inventory on the ground. There was a time when this wasn't the case. Sorry we...

Height of Tournament 205 With Canvas Up?

If it were me, I'd rack the boat with the canvas stowed....for a couple reasons. For one, unless you are at the top of the rack, you are bound to get drippings and droppings from the boats above you. Its bad enough cleaning oil, etc...off the deck. Trying to get those stains out of canvas is...

Trim tab pump location on Tournament 205

Its located inside the storage compartment on the drivers side. But - you won't see it because you have to remove the wood panel (that the fuse panel is mounted to) to access it.
