    Boat Cover Color

Go darker....either the captain's navy or the dark gray. The lighter colors will reflect the sun in the winter when you want to absorb it to melt the snow....and they show every stain and drip.

Water Leakage into cabin of Adventure 208

Is the leakage around the "porthole" windows on each side of the cabin? Again, they may need to be resealed. The panels on each side of the jumpseats, even if removed, do not allow access into the cabin. There is a small hole that runs through this panel into the electronics box, but on the...

    Seafarer 228 vs 228G

The 228 and 228"G" are interchangable. The model with the normal notched transom is the "226"...

Water Leakage into cabin of Adventure 208

If its the roofliner its probably the hatch. Either it wasn't closed at some point, or the rubber seal is no longer sealing. My '99 never leaked, and I hit it pretty good on a regular basis with the hose.

    Stainless Steel Disk Brakes

Save your money and get the Kodiak silver-cad disc brakes. As long as you are diligent about washing them out thoroughly after each dunking in salt water, you can expect to get 2-3 seasons out of them. The stainless are substantially more money and from my experience, don't last that much longer.

    228G Radar Installation

If its a factory hardtop, the support beam running from the top of the instrument panel up to the electronics box is hollow and open at both ends. Shouldn't be too big a deal to drop the cable from the top and fish it down.

    Fuel Tank Gauge Switch

If its the same as my 226 was, the Main/Aux switch on the panel controls the fuel gauge. The actual flow (which tank is being drawn from) was controlled by a "Y" valve in the stern compartment.

Trailer plate for out of state purchase?

Every county has a tax collector and they handle the tag and title transactions. Some would refer to it as the DMV...although to me - when I think DMV, I think where you go to get your drivers license. In a handful of counties (Miami Dade, Broward, Volusia,) there are private agencies that...

    keeping motor in up position

It won't cause any problems as long as you have support for it (either a motormate, myWedge, etc...) and as long as you tilt it down first so all the water can drain out.

Trailer plate for out of state purchase?

As long as you have the bill of sale, you are fine. But - if you feel more comfortable, any FL Tax Collector's office will print you a 30 day temporary tag. I think it runs about $10 or so.

    Yamaha trim indicator

You could check the plug to make sure its connected tightly...follow the harness up into the pan and around to the starboard side of the motor...it plugs into the harness underneath the throttle/shift cables. Unplug the plug...clean the connections...and plug it back in. If it still doesn't...

Getting Owner Info From Registration Number

    Yamaha trim indicator

The pic in my signature was taken at Port Royale (formerly Lan Mar) on Lanier. In addition to Lanier, we regularly go to Oconee, Sinclair, Allatoona as well as both the Atlantic and Gulf coasts of FL.

    Yamaha trim indicator

Cowling on... Tilt the motor up...look at the tilt rod dead center and move your hand to the right...you will feel a plastic piece (black in color) with an arm that swings up and down. Turn the key on, and with a helper, move the arm and have the helper watch the gauge. If the trim readings...

New the the forum and dreaming

You might have to travel a little bit. Both my 226 and 205 were sold to Great Lakes boaters (the 226 to a guy outside Detroit; the 205 to suburban Cleveland.) Both the buyers indicated that they couldn't find used GW's in their area, and both made a 10 hour drive down I-75 to Atlanta. Good...

    trailer for gulfstream

I would look for a 9800 GVW aluminum tandem trailer. This will give you a carrying capacity somewhere in the neighborhood of 8000 lbs. Generally speaking, you probably want SS hardware, radial tires, Kodiak disc brakes, LED Lighting, Front Center bunks, and a spare tire with spare hub. If...

If you go Ivory, its only one shade. But, GW has started offering colored Gelcoat (external)...I think its available now in Blue, Yellow or Gray.
